Sorry if this is a dumb question but if I go to the shop why is one members plus 12 coins and one 250, Is one monthly and one yearly or perm? It doesn't say or I am blind and missing it.

They're both permanent.
The 12 DONATION coins, is for those who Donate and want it "right away" (requires contacting Jack of Blades with proof).
The 250 ACTIVITY coins, is for those that spend time interact on various threads and aren't in that much of a hurry.

Except all it does is push users away from this site. This definitely comes off more as a "Lets make the points so hard to earn that more users will give us money instead" and less as a "security measure." It's the same tactic used by Gacha games and companies to milk you for money.
