Yeah, I won't hold my breath, but considering the angle she was holding that gun... it's entirely possible she survived, as long as you were actually there to call the ambulance quickly. Although, no variables get set for either choice, despite the walkthrough indicating that ignoring the call closes the Macy path.

There is no second option there. I looked at the code since I was curious. There may have been a different option in an earlier build, but there is only one now.

Early in the game, the following conversation happens:

MC: Cassey had nobody but me.
Nicole: Yes, I am alone. I was always alone when you were not with me.
Nicole: Do you really think Mom could replace you? She died, and I am still alone because you are not here!

The way I interpreted this was that their mother was alive 5 years ago when MC left, but died in the interim. This could mean a few things:

1. The author either had a different idea or just a vague idea of past events when writing the scene.
2. The author/translator accidentally wrote it in such a way to give an incorrect impression.
3. The author intentionally wrote it in a vague and misleading way to set up the scene at the end of this update.
4. Their mother survived for a time after the shooting.

As for which option is correct, your guess is as good as mine.

If you reject the mother in the first scene, you have an third option if you visit Nicole's room afterwards. In every other instance, there is always a least two choices when an option is given. That scene in the clothing shop is the only one with only one option.

MC says in his thoughts that he must tell everyone the truth about the death of his mother, and given the ending, I think she survived and is in a psychiatric hospital.

She's very hot. We can only hope so.
