about Mark's personality, his moral character.
I don't agree with those who think that Mark is an asshole. He tries to play the cards he was dealt. Well, yes, sometimes he whines internally, but he doesn't show it externally.
I don't understand why people treat him like that. His parents formed him like that. Parents determine first and foremost what kind of person a child will grow up to be - not only genetically, but also by their behavior at home and in public.
In short, here you either have to blame everyone - or blame no one. And in general, we often see a speck in someone else's eye without noticing a splinter in our own, don't we?
The way Mark behaved with Tiffany - but how could he behave with her? Not make Tiffany his underage wife? Well, let's say if he was going to play with her and break up - then there's no point in talking, this is unworthy behavior, no person who considers himself a man should behave like that. But if he takes Tiffany into his harem to take care of her, protect her, cherish and pamper her - then everything is fine. he can even convince (underaged) Tiffany to have sex with him and not be an asshole about it (because I repeat he takes her as his wife). and as I understand it, he is going to fix the relationship with Eva, take on his shoulders the care of Eva too, making her also one of his wives. so why is Mark an asshole?
then we should blame Leana for the initial corruption of Tiffany - she put the thought of "making love to daddy" into the baby's head - Mark did not ask Leana about that. also Mark has a soft spot for Tiffany - he could not resist her when Tiffany made a move, albeit under Leana's persuasion, blindly, not really guessing where it would actually lead her. by the way, she was not disappointed in Mark, who in his own way takes care of her and values her = loves her.
and to blame Mark only because public morality says so - forgive me, at the very least it is short-sighted, and at the most it looks like hypocrisy. forgive me if I was harsh. by the way, I have no right to blame those who are guided by public morality - they simply may not realize that public morality is hypocritical.
hell - yes, either blame everyone - or blame no one.
after all, wasn't it Tiffany who suffered from loneliness with her own mother and found happiness in the arms of Mark-the-seducer? Do you have enough heart to deny it?
