Technically abandoned since more was planned, but the way the last update ended with the MC shot by his dausis it's easy to assume for those that didn't know about Ketzal's trials and tribulations that it is just a rushed ending while assuming the MC died, dausis serving life in prison for premeditated murder, and the rest of the family killing themselves in despair after losing their daddy/brother/son. Similar ending for Malignant, easy to assume that the MC just lost it and murdered everyone and presumably himself after. A number of AVNs (usually dark-themed) simply do not have what one would consider happy endings even when considered completed by the devs.

Not only was it abandoned, it's the most abandoned game in AVN history. I say that because it had the most potential of any AVN that ever existed. It had it all, MILFs, lolis, some shota content, gorgeous character models, incest and most importantly a wide open door for mother-daughter incest + oyakodon threesomes. And the developer squandered all of that. He looked at the door of opportunity to be the greatest AVN ever made and said nah, I'd rather see what's up with this glory hole over here. "Oh look! A dick! The MC's dick. Lemme spend most of my time riding this thing."

Consecutively abandon the idea of taking full advantage of your characters by continuing to dickride on the MC with every new patch, update or sex scene until the game itself is abandoned.

I'll blame the current political climate - where coercion and witchhunts are the new normal. The original game was great, but loli and incest games are now an endangered species. The dev tried to mitigate the risk by deprecating those aspects of the game - nuked the loli and tried to play down the incest - but that ruined the story and both he and his support base lost interest.

Fuck politics and the gov't. Where there's a will there's a way. C P is illegal in a lot of places and has been for decades (before it was under obscenity law and then it specifically since 1986 as far as the US, thanks Traci Lords) yet still exists, a flood of it realistic AI now. He could have done a BHG and simply made his own site with SSP/EGBE hidden behind front AVNs no one cares about. For extra resilience go the extra mile and use multiple countries for different aspects like fringe porn sites do (domain in one, LLC registered in a 2nd, storage in a 3rd, backups in a 4th). Or, you know, simply not been a dumbass and ignore advice on his Discord from multiple people and went ahead and put this and EGBE back on his front AVN's SS page (that I don't even remember the name of, never played it).

If you like the style and renders definitely check Dynasty. I swear it felt like I'm playing SSP

Short answer is easier said than done, even when the desire is there, which is rare itself as just about every dev with the time and knowledge would rather just start fresh with their own AVN than finish someone else's abandoned project (which half the time was abandoned for good reason, usually either lack of enough interest/money or in this case plenty of interest but banned on every platform and not even 0.1% of potential devs would do it for free).

There is also the matter of replicating the assets. Renders are made using models. Re-creating the models by reverse-engineering the renders distributed with the game is quite difficult. If the original dev were to share the models and other assets, someone new might be able to continue the project. If that's not happening, then - like you said - it is a lot easier to make your own game from scratch than to try to seamlessly continue one made by someone else.

Just finished playing SSP and it stated it was end of Season 1; Season 2 to follow. Someone could continue the story but using similar characters. Don't have to be an exact match, just a continuation of the story.

It's called So Much to Love. Downloaded that garbage today then immediately deleted it and ignored the thread. Already don't like the way Ketzal tells his stories, I just miss the character models. But the way he writes has the story playing out a dream sequence for the MC. Reminds me of every time a character died in a show and we see heaven from their PoV in the afterlife. So in a way, maybe the MC did die at the end of SSP. And SML is his version of heaven turning into hell with all the girls aged up.
