Fortunately he's not completely stupid when it comes to tech - just a bit oldfashioned when it come sto desktops.. (he's only had laptops since 20 years or so..) so could just simply tell him that I no longer use floppies or CD's for 15+ years; so didn't make sense to waste space in the case for it

– You have to grant the permission for the external/second save storage use when starting the game for the first time.
– On some devices the game seems to stuck on the very first start after you granted the permission.

How to get leana path ?

Just guessing, but when you start it from main menu the story seem to imply that it happens after Marcy came back.
So I'd assume there is an way to go pic related after that?

Why don't you find out? In the game directory there should be a file log.txt. Just open it and look at what it says. Probably some general logging information that isn't very interesting, and at the end the details of the Python error that caused the crash. It often contains a short sentence or other hint that can help you understand and fix the problem, even if you are not a programmer.

It turned out to be an issue with audio. I had disabled all sources except the one I'm using and the game was wanting one of the ones I had disabled. I just re-enabled the one it wanted and it worked. It doesn't make much sense because I'm still using the same audio source from before and not the one I re-enabled but the game will launch now.

Follow the Macy/Bonds of Blood path, and after Macy shows up there is a dialog with her where you can choose to take some time off to think (and take Leana with you).

So, .v0.11.6R just delves into past events and doesn't advance the story then? Just peeked at it and nothing significant seems to have changed.

I found in the past most often a greyed out choice was due to MC's points being to low, usually corruption the rest of the time dominance. I dont know the values for Luna or how to look them up, but you can just go to the point the scene where you have greyed out choice, scroll 1 render back then click on the book in top left of the screen, increase MC stats(or decrease in case of passive. high passive could probably lock options out if its a variable for that scene, who knows not me).
for quick reference i didnt have a greyed out option with her and here were my stats when first meeting Luna:
Dominant 71- Corruption 115- Guilt 50- Passive 38. so if you change your stats to round there you shouldnt have any issue.

Maybe that is only accessible when that is the second time you are seeing her?
You get to meet Luna for a very short time after you see her and Rebecca's daughter messing around in the office on family route

Didn't this game have a Mod?
I updated this game recently and lost the Scene gallery and some other features so I checked to see if there was a download link for a mode from Koge3 or whatever it was I forget but I don't see anything.

Do we normally just have to wait a few days or does a mode update only release ever 1.0 instead of every 0.5?

The game for the past 3 versions has crashed on startup for me. I'm not sure why.

never had a problem with it, maybe buy a new computer......
