Whenever I start a new game that I haven't played before, first thing I do is check fullscreen and reduce all volume to 20%

i cant remember what game it was, the guardian?, anyways it has fucking knocking mid-way through, I nearly shit my pants mid wank thinking some one was at the window while I had my dick in my hand like, wut

It depends on the game and when I'm playing it. I generally go for a happy medium of turning sound effects to lower levels. Music doesn't worry me too much. Last thing I want is my insurance agent dropping by and hearing the MC pounding away at a harem chick from outside. And if I'm playing a special game, I sure as hell don't want anyone hearing "Daddy harder!".

I usually have both music and sound on mute or just very low. If a game has voice acting, I'll check how it sounds first then decide if I want to have it on or off.

I always mute the music. As for the other sounds I will mute these as well, or if I want to hear them in the background I will set them to a very low level.

I mostly have the sound on mute when I play.

most of the time the music's so fucking loud that it nearly blows out by ear drums

I don't play Japanese games, as for all other games - if they have voice-overs, they are done at a very low, amateur level, and there are problems with normal music because of copyrights. So I prefer to play something from my personal music library (usually jazz instrumental compositions), and turn off the sound in the game completely.

audio is such a good way to immediately elevate a game. however if its handled badly then its very noticeable. in essence good audio fits seamlessly into the background but bad audio is impossible to ignore

I've played games where sound fits really well with actions. Not most of them but they where really good

Not a big fan, I tend to mute games and play lo-fi tracks or asmr. Most of the time the music and sound choices made game devs are a bit off putting to game.

Most of the time the only sound in the game is music and I always have to turn it down or off because they just blast you with it.

I only care about sound during intimate scenes. Some moaning and heavy breathing from female characters goes a long way for a sound hound like me.

I don't think you're missing out on much anyway. Sound is such an afterthought in porn games.

Sound in these types of games, when it comes from the chars often leads me to mute it. The music however I let stay. There is a difference. The sound is often repeating and it just breaks the immersion of it. Sure there are instances where it is done "right". But most of the time it's a mute for me. I can do without it.
