I feel as though the multiple coin types is a bit silly. Just have one coin type and apply different multipliers based on activity/donations/whatever. As a generic example: Activity is worth 1x coins, donation is worth 1.5x coins, and whatever activity is required for Activity2.0 coins is worth 2x coins. (Substitute the multipliers that make sense.) The current system is needlessly complicated and has to be much worse to maintain, not to mention confusing for users.

Also, just generally speaking, locking content behind paywalls is a huge put off to users like me. I've been here almost 4 years now, but I rarely post. I'm just not a social person like that. I look for information, find it, and move to my next task. I am also poor thanks to taking a massive pay loss after being laid off, so I can't even afford to donate anymore, though I have in the past. I'm lucky in that Members+ is already unlocked for me, but my time and cash is limited, and as such, I can't justify spending money on unlocking something unless I know exactly what I'm getting in return. That's not to say I won't donate whenever I can without any perks, just that if there are perks, there needs to be much more insight into what exactly you get, with examples and such.

Which leads to my next question: Wtf is the gray zone? lol

EDIT: Small suggestion for a change in the Shop. Have it display you balances at the top of the page at all times that way when you're clicking around the shop you always have your balances right there in front of you.

Yeah stop putting thing behind paywalls. There are several other sites that offer the same content or even MORE and they don't spam announcments every 2 days or make you buy virtual coins. It is honestly you trying to profit off other peoples work which is what puts people off.
The click here for annoucment before you can go anywhere is very very annoying. Who thought that was a good idea?
You want foot traffic? Let people roam free, you want money, slap a "donate here" button. Forcing people to pay to access a forum is ridiculous, no other site spams announcments or demands you pay to access their site or be limited if you refuse to "donate", it is like Mafia behaviour.

Anyway, that is my two cents, also stop banning games or removing forum posts because "you" don't like it. What you dislike, others may like and vice versa. Be more freeing. Ristrict access to "restricted zones" to maybe to accounts that are less then 6 months old, or only log in like once every 3 months or exhibit behaviour like reporting every game they don't like,

2 suggestions:

[Suggestion 1] Simplify Coin and Vault/Wallet:
  1. There should be 2 coin types max!:
    1. Activity Coin (free): Merge AC and AC 2.0 - why do these even exist? That's just confusing.
These can be used for ranks, some bling (banners, profile pic borders, whatev)
    2. Premium Coin (donation, platinum, ...): Pick one and stick with it. Why even have those 2?
These can be used for everything AC can be used + premium only bling (special banners, additional borders, ...). People love their cosmetic bling and I'm sure many are willing to contribute with real money if they get something to show off.
Note: No content paywalled behind premium only, please!
  2. Simplify the bank.
    1. Why does interest go into the wallet, not the vault? And the deposit minimum just means people need to withdraw all first, then deposit again (incl. the interest)? That makes no sense and brings no benefit. It's just useless extra clicks.
Just dump the interest directly into the vault. Done.
    2. Why distinguish between wallet and vault anyway? It would be easier if it's just one thing. You get interest on that and done.
[Suggestion 2] Improve advanced search (esp. Tag search):

Make separate fields in the tag search for:
  1. Keywords (text search)
  2. Tags: Include tags and exclude tags in fields
  3. Prefixes: (include and exclude) for things like VN, Kinetic, RenPy, RPGM, HTML, etc.
So the Tag search (or "Advanced search" or whatever search tab this ends up being) would have effectively 5 fields. Basically a mix of what "search threads" (includes prefixes) and "search tags" (includes tags) already offer, but on one search with a streamlined and simplified UI.

Bonus points if you can select / unselect the "zones" (normie, M+, VIP) with simple checkboxes in that search.

If there are things you think should be reverted, loosened, cleaned up, removed, improved, or brought back, post your suggestions here....

...Suggestions and feedback posted here will be reviewed and handled by mime and apollo. They will be the ones deciding what makes sense, what should be reverted, and what direction LC should take from here.

Good decision!
I think the notifications are perfectly fine - after all, you need to know when something new happens and be able to find out about it.
There are plenty of posts where people ask about things that have already been clearly communicated, and either some people seem to have completely missed them, or they were just too lazy to take the trouble to look up the information they were looking for themselves.
As long as you have the option to click these announcement banners away when needed, I’m sure no one will have a problem with them.
But if they are constantly in your field of vision, they eventually get on your nerves and become annoying.
This is especially the case if they contain overly bright colors or moving elements, but you already know that.

Where is the gray zone?
It's a perk under the prestige levels. For someone like me, unlocking a prestige level is never going to happen through activity. The only for me to get a P ranking would be to buy it. It would be beneficial to know what gray zone means without having to search the site for it. Which I did, but at least a little insight on the store page would've been useful.

More and more countries change how they act about that or get stricter about their acting.
Under Section 63 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008, UK law prohibits possession of a "prohibited image of a child" and the statute explicitly covers drawn, computer-generated, and animated images where no real person was involved in their creation. The law has no requirement that a real child exist or be harmed.

~snip~
Just a FYI ..thats not across the whole of the UK.. Scotland is partial devolved and doesnt explicitly have a law against fictional content of said type. though its true they certainly dont like it and if there is any other contributing factors involved in a case it will be used against you.

In the United Kingdom, the (which took effect in April 2010), made the possession of fictional pornography involving minors illegal. The Act's provisions only apply in Wales, England, and Northern Ireland, but do not apply in Scotland.

Besides, rules are made for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools.
Bad rules should be treated as such ..bad. I wont let my life be dictated by some puritan just like with other subjects throughout history. Its fictional ..end of.

I know, the law is from 2008 after all, if it was enforced stricter UK people would act different.
That's why I wrote "More and more countries change how they act about that or get stricter about their acting."
Only recently they started to act on those.

An example for it is the case over a year ago, where the UK monitored and tracked a guy for CSAM and when they finally busted him and found AI stuff, they put in on the pile of misconducts, they'd never had done this for the AI alone, which btw was not just ai generated, but deep faked real kids, which is something where most countries draw the red line between fictional and involving real children.

But with the whole age verification thing, they start to slowly tighten the noose.
And it's not only the UK and Australia, several US-states require an age verification and many countries look into forcing it too.

Its fictional ..end of.
This is obviously true, fiction is fiction.
But, you can't hold it onto websites, if they start to be more careful when they can become the target for the trivialities of their user behavior.

Look at one of Utah's newest laws from a couple of weeks ago: ->

It's not the websites fault that certain laws are being made and enforced, so one should get angry at those, not the websites.

BUT, this is not what this thread is about, so no need to derail it. ;)

That's why my minor suggestion.
Please make the "bold" option truly bold, the difference between bold and non-bold is minuscule.

bold bold
bold bold
You see it if you know it's supposed to be bold, but you'd overlook it in any other case.
Or as a screenshot

The first and the last are supposed to be bold.

That latest updates page is great, I don't know what it was like before, but I was about ready to abandon this site because I was filtering through games using the games section. You guys really need a way to direct people to that page/draw attention to it.

What do you think of adding a section for completely uncensored games under Members plus, any games can be posted, of any type? where people can opt into if they want? Like I said in an earlier post, I don't want to go to ATF, especially after the whole fiasco, just to get games that you cant find anywhere else. Id prefer to get all games from here, since its almost purely for games and mods. I think it would be a big boost to the forum Pop if you just allow any games to be posted completely uncensored

Another minor suggestion: add a donation link in the shop. Unless I'm just missing it?

I had been bitching about that for so long. Thanks for the change! For what its worth, I think the site announcement banner /w read more option is a classy stylish alternative. It looks good, easy to ignore and when ready can click it away if its bothering me.

I think that the same engine (with tags/sorting capabilities) should be used on any page that displays games, whether latest updates, games+, searches, etc. As it is now it feels like the "Latest Updates" page is the only usable way to find a game. That's my only real complaint.

As far as what I'd do with the coins/payment options, there's a lot of ideas going around, but the number one thing I'd say is make sure that whatever system you use takes into account the people that paid into the older systems. If there isn't a way to bring prestige/memberships with a new system, its not worth moving to, because you'll lose more people who paid than you'll gain.

Another thought I've had after reading more posts, it could be helpful to have a tag explanation page that lists a brief definition for each tag (even the obvious ones), to remove confusion of which is which and when they should be used, particularly for filtering.

Alternately, having a onmouseover event for the tags that has a description might serve the same function.
