I want to see everything in one playthrough. I don't want to have to replay over and over to find everything.

Single playthrough unless we are talking same love interests but different kind of path (ie; one love path, the other dark) which changes the scenes / story somewhat. I really dislike having to do multiple playthroughs (and usually I won't) just to get a certain character scene or shit like that. But generally speaking I'll take single playthrough any day whilst multiple paths / outcomes (especially endings..) is really a turn off. I rather have the dev focus on one path and work it out first, this also avoids let downs where people don't like the "real" ending or some shit.

I prefer branching if it makes the story better. Sometimes missing content can be annoying if you have to spend a lot of time getting back to that point on a different playthrough, but with tactical saving this can be avoided quite often.

I like branching paths if I don't have to grind the same content again

Branching paths definitely. I'd also love it if there was an evil and non-evil route to take

one play through - there's too many games out there to replay stuff
I agree with this. But I can imagine there are games where I would think the other way around although at the moment I can't think of one.

One playthrough. I don't want to miss out on scenes and there's not much chance I'll replay it just for branching paths, this is why I mainly play harem games

Would say branching paths now as most of the games I follow nowadays take a while to come out with new updates. So it happens from time to time that I replay the games and try other combinations of choices. Leading to new love interests opening up and old ones closing, for me its been fun and adds a lot to the replay ability. Usually have one main path I follow and then try other combinations later.

I tend to prefer single playthrough more. Branching can be good if the gameplay is solid & the choices offer different/unique experiences. The other outlier here are the sandbox games (like Headmaster or Summertime Saga) that has an explorable world to unlock interactions.

Branching paths are definitely better, you can have a story with more focus and form a deeper connection to the central character(s). Plus I personally am not interested in the harem trope, so I'd rather see those deeper, more intimate connections. Though it must be said that for them to be done right requires a lost more development time, so I get why so many games don't do them.

If you are talking about some game that just about the sex, then a single path works just fine, I guess, not like I would be interested in such a game anyway.

Branching paths. I like the games, not KN. The literary quality of kinetic novels is so low that it's better to just read a book (even a mediocre one). And just, at the very least, download some pornographic movies.

Generally single playthrough. Branching games can be justified (Eg Leap of Faith), but often are in the sour spot of not interesting enough to be worth actually rereading, and not memorable enough to be able to tab through.

I prefer replayability, so branching. But the game must have a good story and art to be worth replaying.
