At first I thought that music was an extra that wasn't needed. But a smooth background noise/music are nice to have.

lol i usually play with a stream playing as background sound when i play games so i usually dont pay attention to the music. sex sounds however are a big plus. lemme hear those sucks.

I'm always up for some music. Chill background music to more exciting power metal, I'm up for anything really. Better than having awful sound effects! Boy does RPGM games looooove awful sound effects.

Both music and sex sounds are needed. In android games there are sound effect problems that is horrible thing.

Yes, I always need music to set the mood. But most devs need to lower their default volume for music because it's almost always ridiculous.

adult games i normally dont play with sound. Normi games for sure, it can add alot to the mood of the game

Maybe. I do think that the female characters could benefit from having sexy sound during the spicy scenes.

Problem is they usually use generic groaning and have it set so loud everyone within about a block thinks you're watching porn.

Sound design is it's own thing and should be done if the designer is planning for it. Generic music for the sake of music is always bad, but planned for and atmospheric music can elevate things. Its just almost never pulled off well.

I said "sometimes", but I would qualify it differently, as opposed to the "fitting the scene" part - cause if it doesn't have sound most of the game, ill probably play it on mute and never know if it's just there for particular scenes.

My take is basically, if it's important to the tone of the game, or if you plan to also include sound effects and stuff like that, then do music. If it's just gonna be the same generic lowfi music with no other sounds in the game, then I'm gonna mute it anyway so I don't care that it's there.

I rarely play with music on, because usually the music is too loud from the get go, before i can even go and change the volume in the menu. Also most music they use is generic free to use music, since i don't think many will pay for music licenses that then expire in the future or have to renew them. So if i want music while i'm playing, dev needs to be good musician themselves to make something that might interest me and even then i might rather play muted.

I’m not really into music while playing. Once in a while, there’s a song that adds to the scene, but that almost never happens

I'm fine with or without it. If it's not good there's always the option to turn the music volume down to zero :sneaky:

I generally prefer it but its certainly not a requirement

Yes as long as it fits the theme of the game. Some games seem to just use the first song they can find
