The music should be non intrusive to the experience and lots of VNs tend to use the most odd music.

I think no bgm can make it a bit awkward sometimes, especially if there are voice sounds but no music. I personally prefer bgm (but not too intrusive)

As long as it follows some of the basic courtesies: Don't explode your eardrums on launch. Make all the music regulated to the same volume. Don't overuse the same track too much and make sure the music fits the scene.

I generally play without sound, would rather listen to my own music majority of the time. There are a few times I think I didn't and the in game music really complemented what was going on, but often it's just generic free-ware stuff.

if there is music please for the love of everything, make it so the audio mixing its full blast when its set to 10%.

I usually turn it off
Same here, most times I set the volume of the music to 0 or very low (if it is good) and sfx/voice I leave at max.

I rarely play with sound, I usually have a podcast on.. but if the plot is really good, I may focus on the game and in that case, if the music is good, I will enjoy it.

But yeah, not a priority

I like music when it fits the game & I can adjust the volume. When it works, it can make the game better

Generally, please no. if it's Lessons in Love, yes please (not counting last update with shitty rock band music)

Will it add to the production time?? We need quicker updates

Good music with intention can add emotional emphasis to a scene. Without that I'd rather not have music

I think it just depends. Most of the time I mute the music because it makes me feel unimmersed. If there was ever a game that only did music in spots with radios and made it sound like it was quietly coming from the radios, then I would love it.
