No, just slow development, 1-2 months between every update.

It IS abandoned. Someone posted the developer's announcement earlier this month that he's stopping developing the game, so now it has the "Abandoned" tag:

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I never really liked this game. The story was meh at best and the models looked kind of stiff, even though the concept and the name are really hot.

Has anybody posted the translated message from the Dev? although the above paraphrase isn't bad.
I thought it happened because they wrote themselves into a corner with the paths causing more an abrupt ending than anything else...
