Except there's no getting around the horrible graphics RPGmaker map has.Hey, remember when people used to say Unity sucked? Yeah... Not the engine's fault, mate. Blame the lazy devs, the engine has nothing to do with it. You can make game that are just as bad or worse in Ren'Py, Unity, Unreal, or whatever your engine of choice is. Again, this has nothing to do with the engine and everything to do with the dev.
This looks pretty nice to me. You can't tell from the screenshot but they even animated the water.Except there's no getting around the horrible graphics RPGmaker map has.
Never seen one that looked anything like that. All I ever seen would have gotten a bad rating for graphics on a Commodore 64 game from 1987.This looks pretty nice to me. You can't tell from the screenshot but they even animated the water.

Sounds like you've not played around with RPG Maker then. You can change the tile set if you want. You can change any graphics you want. Devs just don't.Except there's no getting around the horrible graphics RPGmaker map has.
Maybe because that's the standard one for bad devs?Sounds like you've not played around with RPG Maker then. You can change the tile set if you want. You can change any graphics you want. Devs just don't.
