You can already filter games. Just select the engines you like and it filters out the rest.

I know this but excluding a prefix with one click is better than including all other prefix expect rpgm

It wasn't there when I played years ago  people who made renpy versions of rpgm games are heroes
well, i cant tell if its good.
i didnt play it at all but i saw it a few times while searching for stuff.

Hey, remember when people used to say Unity sucked? Yeah... Not the engine's fault, mate. Blame the lazy devs, the engine has nothing to do with it. You can make game that are just as bad or worse in Ren'Py, Unity, Unreal, or whatever your engine of choice is. Again, this has nothing to do with the engine and everything to do with the dev.
Except there's no getting around the horrible graphics RPGmaker map has.

This looks pretty nice to me. You can't tell from the screenshot but they even animated the water.

There is no convincing. It sucks.

Never seen one that looked anything like that. All I ever seen would have gotten a bad rating for graphics on a Commodore 64 game from 1987.

Sounds like you've not played around with RPG Maker then. You can change the tile set if you want. You can change any graphics you want. Devs just don't.

Maybe because that's the standard one for bad devs?

RPGM could be good, but IMO it's not worth the extra effort / time to develop it compared to some AVN with choices. Most of us are here for the adult component and not the rpg character story....

There's just not much to do after a while and not enough focus on the story or the character. It just gets boring and task heavy. Usually.

Claire's Quest is pretty impressive. An actual game with plenty of lewds. All in RPGM.

I do, however agree that for the most part RPGM games are crap walkathons that could be much better done using a different engine.

Agree. Plus I dont like sandbox so not only in graphics department but also in the "gameplay" department. I dont like when VN has "gameplay" part where you need to move and do something. For that I have regular games :)

RPGMs suck cause I can't play with one hand...

No no its perfect, I love wonky controls, trying to find an angle around a person or object to trigger an action, and my favourite accidental dialog clicks when im skipping the infinite amount of unnecessary text.

RPGM is bad when it's used for visual novels, but it's great when it's used for games with actual RPG mechanics, like Melty's Quest.

RPGM is meant for making a very specific type of JRPG is outdated in terms of gameplay. It is very terrible at making anything else

NLT's games are the counterpoint to OP, as they are very good and have a broad following. But their success lies in that NLT doesn't make RPG gameplay the core draw, instead it's high quality renders and animations, with interesting charachters. Bad RPGM games abound, because they make this mistake - that your engine (whatever it is) can never be the star of your show.
