Ren'py for me, my PC is complete trash, it gets super hot when I play a lot of Unity games.
Still, if they are interesting I'll play them regardless.

I'm on the Ren'py team, especially since native Linux support for Unity ports is usually considered not thatimportant by devs.

The only thing I don't like about Renpy. Is that you can't scroll wheel to advance a VN.

Prefer renpy cuz it mostly has a skip function for unseen dialogues when u just want to see what the game has to offer

Depends, unity is way more versatile for some stuff while renpy can be powerful but requieres way more tinkering and skill. Also it doesn't quite support bulky projects like what happened to Summertime. But then you see Karmasutra or The Null Hypotesis and you notice it can be a beast in the right hands.
Also Godot seems to be carving a way, it's easy to do multi platform compatibility with fewer adjustments and since is community driven, it's ever growing

Renpy.
and then Renpy.
and then, maybe, Renpy.

and far, far below somewhere Unity. Such a waste of resources! Runs slow, makes a hassle when changing OS and is harder to work with.

Ren'py just has the functions you need for a VN baked in so it's a safe bet, but unity and godot work fine if the programming is good and are much more versatile. That versatility usually just leads to sandboxes that are shit or minigames that are shit though.

Who the fuck would prefer Unity? It crashes to desktop ALL THE TIME.
