One of my first heavily incest-themed games I played. It enrages me to think fiction is being targeted for no good reason other than moral righteousness.

As far as I know its this month, but originally was supposed to be last year. Could be today or next week, we wont know until the day it happens.

So basically non nude images, or images of women who look underage, that can be used to make him look worse to bolster their charges around the game.
There was one case I know of where a person charged with child abuse materials was charged over their own childhood photos, as in photos of themselves as a child.
If the police are looking to build a stronger case they'll add these materials in.
It also explains why bigger outlets aren't picking up the story.
If it had been child sexual abuse material he would have made the bigger Melbourne media outlets, as righteous indignation sells news.

He has already pleaded guilty, they dont need anything to build a stronger case as he has already accepted a deal. The only thing remaining is for him to be sentenced

Regardless of his sentence he'll now be put on the Sex Offender Register once he is sentanced.
Then as his court imposed sentance nears completion the Justice Department will apply to put him on an indefinite Suppervision Order. This is an order that convicted sex offenders are put on after their court imposed sentance is complete.
The order can force the offender to spend the rest of their life in a jail like facility or the rest of their life on a parole type situation.
They need ammunition to impose the order so the more they put on the table now the easier it will be.
Basically in Australia sex offenders are never out from under the justice department for the rest of their lives.
These are laws that only apply to sex offenders, the laws were bought in about 20 years ago.

I suspect it's the old slippery slope argument.
The thinking goes, something along the lines of "if you're willing to make a game, you might be willing to consume real media, if you're willing to consume real media, you might be willing to make real media, therefore you're a danger to children".

Alternatively (and more likely), it's performative justice. In order to look good, and win some points from the reactionary press, government/law enforcement/etc, need to deliver, and anyone they can paint as "a danger to kids" is an easy target, even if they aren't an actual danger. There's no nuance in the conversation, especially not in the gutter press, so immediately anyone caught up by this is automatically branded a ****file and the authorities will get nothing but praise for "doing something about it". Anyone that defends, adds nuance, or presents a counter argument is then also automatically found guilty in the court of public opinion.

TLDR: It's free positive press for the authorities if they throw the book at him. Gutter press will want him lynched, so this is the next best thing.

In Australia, the media love to name and shame any sex offender especially a rockspider, yet other than his local town media the media have hardly said anything about this case . Very unusual and gutter press does describe the media in Australia

As far as I know, he has not been sentenced yet. I have no idea what is going on and can only tell you all what the media is letting us know. This is the second time the media has made a claim of him being sentenced by a certain date only for it not to happen. I will continue to check Court listings and as soon as I know what his sentence is, I will let you all know..

I found another article and it is confirmed that he had images of real children being abused so yea... Being arrested for the game is dumb but he deserves to go to prison for the real stuff. He also admitted to secretly filming 3 female neighbours.

Maybe now the mods can finally give the game the abandoned tag.

It's just sad, it gives people more power to claim people who enjoy pixels are also the same people who do bad stuff irl, and it's hard to prove them otherwise when you have people like this. Also ffs, doing that in Australia out of all places? I have no words.

I mean if what @BadJM said is true then "real children being abused" sounds pretty straightforward. I don't think any police in any country would make that claim if it was not REAL. Aside of that secretly filming 3 female neighbours... if someone does something like that then the rest is even more probable.
