Plot, Pornhub already got those realist graphics but we're all here ain't we?

The argument, of course. If it were for graphics I wouldn't have played certain games that I ended up liking

For me, the characters are the most important. So both their graphical appearance and the way they talk/behave. The story plot is less important.

Some of the games from the 90's had horrid graphics, but the way I remember them they were so real and vivid in my mind. It's writing and plot every day of the week for me.

Can you recommend one of those?

Damn... which one? Doom, AoE, Diablo, Star Control II (played for hours and hours) & Wing Commander series. Going further back there was M.U.L.E. for the Commodore 64 and Tunnels of Doom for the TI-99/4A. Games I played in the summer with an open window overlooking my neighborhood as a child waiting for night to come so all the kids could play hide-and-go-seek. Back when computers and play didn't interfere much with each other.

Both matter - but in the end.. if it's not pleasing to the eyes, it's not pleasing to the Peepee. :)
And similarly, great graphics with absolutely not story/plot/building/context is boring and less exciting as well.

So I think both of them need like a minimum level of quality.

Haha, thought you were talking about adult games... But in this case - fair point.

I always thought "there need to be a balance" but after the tidal wave of AI slop with good art but dog dick "story" i am in the writing/plot is way more important than art

Plot. Graphics help and shit graphics can take you out of a game but plot is the most important.

Plot>>>Consistency>>> Graphics
Main reason some of us hate AI slop in games is because even if they are HQ every picture feels like a different character/setting and its hard to associate the plot with them every time the AI decided to make the character/background/setting slightly different. This is why some games are successful even if the art inst the best.
We are all here for the plot. For graphics we got porn.

Both are so important, they both don't need to be top tier but a good plot with shit graphics is unplayable and vice versa

Both

Dumbkoala Games has really good graphics but I don't like the plots

Both are extremely important for me to love a game. But at the same time I feel like I lean more into good graphics. A game with amazing graphics and a moderate plot is a lot more bearable than a game with moderate graphics but an amazing story. A game with a bad version of either I won't play

Plot and not butt ugly.
And good character writing

I thought ********* was aiming for a so bad it's good game and showing that people a lot of people were pretending to care about their perception of flaws.
That's all true about the audience.

But then I learned he is just doing his best and the best he could do were ugly, mean characters.

It's been years and the still can't light an interior. He started using hdris for outdoor lighting. But it's just characters in the same standings pose staring out into space.

So, I don't believe most of you.

Graphics feed man for a day, whilst plot feeds him for a lifetime. If I want to tug on my flesh flute, graphics are all that matter. If I want to tug on my heart strings or nurture and feed my soul, plot is more important.
