I think way too many people confuse NTR with Netori.

I like a good vanilla romance as much as the next guy. But you have people running away and holding their heads if the harem has a lesbian scene and the male is not present there to give his explicit approval. That seems nuts to me. Also there are times when sharing is appropriate...if the girl isn't a main love interest why would I freak out?

There are way too many layers to this type of thing for people to raise pitchforks whenever a tag that they don't personally enjoy pops up in a game. Especially if it is not the main theme of the game in the first place. I'm not into cucking but there are people out there that don't make any distinction between that and swapping for instance...what if it is you and your girlfriend swapping with a another dude and his girlfriend. I mean he would have to be a REALLY good friend (for me to take that route)...but I see stories written with so much wrangling to make it so the MCs friend is left out of the fun just so the author can stamp no NTR on it.

If your story seems to call for that type of content...don't half-ass it is all I care about...don't make relationships seems awkward and forced or lack thereof seem weird that it didn't take place.

"Vanilla" is massive and encompasses a variety of things, NTR is a single thing... so neither... There are great written NTR and Vanilla games, so it is very much about taste anyway, tho if I look at, dunno, Desire of Fate for example? Great written game that is clearly not vanilla and surely doesn't have NTR, so...
