I enjoy the genre as a means to satisify my fantasies and get away from the vanilla that is pervades most VNs/Games. With the exceptiong of harem and incest I can get the vaginal sex, anal sex, etc. etc. in real life, why fap to the mediocre when you can delve into the more risque?

If I had to rank them with explanation:

1. Netorase, adds the excitement of the MC having a true LI and enjoys their LI receiving pleasure without the overwhelming possessive jealousy that people often associate with the standard cheating. The idea the the MC is secure enough in their love with their partner that encouraging sharing and swinging is exciting for them as well, knowing that the LI will ultimately return to them.
2. Netori is an interesting study for me where VNs/Games are concerned. It has been my experience that Netori focused VNs are nearly all Harem style games with the add fetish of stealing someone's LI. The equivalent of cuckolding someone. So for me that is okay, not overly exciting because it isn't that far removed from a standard MC chases potential LI, MC gets potential LI (making them a true LI), MC keeps all other interested parties away from LI.
3. Netorare is more akin to being cuckolded, where jealousy and humiliation often play a role for the protagonist. A feeling of helplessness by the MC is often the predominate characteristic throughout this narrative.

Part of the issue with most VNs/Games is the translation from the original into other languages and the mislabeling in tags - there are a few labelled with Netorase that should really be Netorare. Thankfully the admin team here has done their due diligence and does a much better job with the tag definitions.

Regardless, like any other preference: to each their own.
