Mini games

Man sorry to hear (read) that.
I mean no offence but fapping is challenge?
Impossible, since that particular part hasn't worked in a few...
And viagra isn't covered by Medicare.

If they are good then I don't mind but usually minigames are horrible.

The problem with mini games is usually the games themselves. A successful mini game either needs to be easy and impossible to fail, or good enough that it's fun to play without context. The second is much harder to achieve and the first makes the mini-game pointless. Thus we are left with the conclusion that mini-games are usually a bad choice.

I generally don't mind minigames. Been gaming for over 30 years, so it takes some real bullshit to stop me in my tracks. But yeah, some devs forget they're making a visual novel, not some qte skill check game and go a little overboard on the difficulty. The absurd quizzes never bothered me cuz google exists and I've never found an AVN where they're timed.

I have never, and I mean never, played a minigame that I liked.

They are normally bad. I find myself ok with them as long as you can skip sometimes it is nice to break up the flow

To many to count. Some are just counter intuitive, where others are just there to over extend gameplay. I had only a hand full of experiences where it was fun and interesting.

For me repeated absurd quizzes are terrible the remove the immersion in the game. Every time I have to leave and then come back. It just leave the feeling of a chore/assignment rather than a game

i don't rly mind minigames, but if it's bad, i usually just straight up delete them

Hate them, especially when it start without warning and you have few seconds to figure out what you are supposed to do. I always skip mini-games if there is option to do so.

I guess the biggest question when adding a mini game should be, does this add to my game? 98% Id guess do not add to a game. Next thing I look for is a work around or cheat, which should defeat the point of said mini game. Then in the garbage.

Some are sudden integral to scene or maybe and entire route at worse there may even be a game over. I think at least qte should have a mandatory easy move!!

I feel like they are unnecessary and not fun at all.

If the minigame give you some exrta content if you manage to finish it, then it can be ok, otherwise it's just a pain in the ass

Today not one but two of the games I'm playing I got frustrated and deleted because of annoying mini games. Game 1 ask questions I only could know by searching the net. A college grad won't know.

Game 2 seems to be made by a collaboration of Hermes & flash with the QTE. I just have to ask have it happen to you a game you thought interesting you never finished because of bad mini games? Can you remember the type? Let me know.
You're not alone. Some are worth getting past though. If it's not enhancing the plot/story, it's a waste of time IMO.

Depending on the nature of the mini-games. If they are annoying or time consuming, I'll find a way to cheat them. If they are well made, no issue whatsoever. Some minigames even offer content on their own (remember Gwent?)

In most of games if there is option to skip mini games, I will skip them. If I want to play sudoku or 3 in row, I will play it not in these games

Mini games in AVN are a big turn off for me, especially if games saves don't transfer from update to update.

Never played one that didn't feel like it was just a time waster and getting in the way of a scene
