Lord of the Rings by Tolkien. Still my favourite book. Not the best book I've read though, as the Mordor part can be bit exhausting to read, but I love the characters and the world so much.

i agree 1984 and i have no mouth but i must scream are only good if your craving existential crisis

Have to bat here for the manga called Kingdom. It's based on the warring states era of China. If you enjoyed Lord of the rings Helms Deep you'll enjoy this. First arc is slow, stick until the end of the 2nd arc which is around ch80 or so.

If you want to read something super fun and with a good cast of characters, I recommend the Black Company by Glenn Cook

If you are looking for non-fiction, something that you should read at least once in your life?
A book that changed my life is A Road Less Traveled by M Scott Peck

I can definitely say that I can NOT recommend 1984

Well, if you're looking for something memorable, this guy didn't even like the book and it was the first thing he thought of.

You can join that with Brave New World and Farenheit 451 to get the classic "shit is kinda fucky" experience.

If you want something fun that will twist up your brain a bit and use it as a fleshlight, try

If you're philosophically inclined and want to twist up your brain by seeing things from a half dozen different perspectives you previously hadn't, "Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid" was a fun one

I've always been a fan of sci-fi. Asimov's works are always enjoyable, and often very memorable.

Neuromancer is good shit, as is Snow Crash. Anathem is brilliant, but needs a strong reader. The first couple chapters are a fucking doozy.

"The Selfish Gene" is a fascinating treatise as well.

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
Dune by Frank Herbert

Death Note

I'd suggest reading one piece before it finishes so you won't have to fear the search "what is the one piece" and people will actually know the answer. It's kinda crazy how it's been over 20 years and eventually people will just google what the one piece is

Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files is an awesome read. And if you really want to take your Dresden Files experience to the next level, check out the Audiobooks. They're narrated by the one and only James Marsters, aka Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The Heavenly Demon Can't Live A Normal
Nano Machine
The Descent of the Demonic Master

Probably not the whole collection, but some of the Sherlock Holmes stories. I don't think I was in my teens when I was gifted the complete set.

Delicious in Dungeon has recently arisen as one of my favorites, together with FMA and Berserk.

Uchi no Musume ni Te o Dasu na!, Hagure Idol Jigokuhen, Oretama, Megami No Sprinter and Ookii Onnanoko wa Daisuki Desu ka?

Jimi dakedo Eroi Karada Shita Okaa-san o Fuuzoku Ochi Sunzen de Sukutta Boshi Soukan is a pretty good one if youre into that stuff

Thanks a lot, will be checking these all out
