discussion Lots of Tags, Good or Bad?

I sometimes look at tags to see if a game has a lot of content, but I care more about what tags than the number of tags

Extra tags do little harm to those who don't want them and help those searching for niche content.

It isn't all good. More tags means more ability for tags to be incorrectly applied and more time moderating tag usage. I think more is better but I think there is a limit.

Tags can be deceptive.
You may come across a lot of tags but a simplistic, lame game
Or come across a few tags and a time-consuming, enjoyable game.
and vice versa

Fewer is better, imo. I don't like it when a game is tagged with something I like and then it shows up for about 0.2 seconds after hours of tags I don't prefer. Should mostly be kept to stuff that's a core aspect of the game and not one-offs.

more than 5-7 is too much IMO, some games descriptions have more tags than bored e-girl from instagram and that is not normal situation

Most controversial topics should have its own tag for avoiding such a game. I dont think oral / vaginal intercourse is a dealbreaker for anyone, but scat sure is.

Vaginal sex is a good one to have filtered as a REQUIRED tag. If it's not there, not a game I'm interested in.

I tend to lean towards the fewer tags side. If there's a bazillion tags I immediately think that the dev put it all in as click bait and casting as wide a net as possible to lure people in. But you just know that most of those tags will get a second of attention.

In an ideal world there's a few tags, but those matter. Then I can pick games with the ones I really like and be pretty sure I'll like it.

I prefer a more detailed/a lot of tags on games, tags that describes the character and/or the kind of story in detail is a good indication for exactly looking up games I desire to play; as tags are supposed to do.

Yeah more tags USUALLY means a longer VN but sometimes it's just crammed which isn't very nice ;/

And often means unavoidable bad stuff like NTR, futa, etc.
