Antivirus is bloatware mostly only grandpas still use. This PC is still on W7 even and I still don't need it with proper backups (that I haven't even needed in over a decade).


Use Chrome, problem solved. I clicked download anyway and it's fine on my end. Seems to be yet another false positive like most all Renpy games, though this one has all 3 versions within the .rar, that might have something to do with it as most are separate .zips.

Yeah the only thing anyone should use is antimalware like malwarebytes (and even then not that necessary if you're competent). Antiviruses not only don't do anything, they flat out just compromise your system (on top of being bloatware).

Beyond the very early days of the service, McAfee has some of the worst protection on the market despite also being extremely sensitive with false flags. It's much more of a resource hog than something like malwarebytes, or even other antiviruses. It was also adware for a very long time, forcefully bundled with many other products, which people generally hate. It used to also give you popup ads frequently to buy premium, don't know if it does that anymore.


The biggest issue with antiviruses in general is they're just simply not really any better than Windows Defender (and, y'know, common sense), which is already built into your system. And if you want additional protection, again, malwarebytes is plenty.

There's also stuff like

at best, it's a very weak and incompetent antivirus.
at worst, it could be called malware, since it's needlessly heavy and collects user data that is not essential for its function as an AV.
but mostly it's a scummy adware that's meant to collect data and make money far before being a competent AV. you'd be much better off with something like bitdefender.

Norton flagged this game as Medium warning and recommended deleting all of its files. Then Norton also found a root tool kit on my PC. Not sure if this game was responsible, but I deleted "Let me in 3d" from my PC and will reload software. I also ran "Norton Power Eraser" which is free.
