Is fantasy overused?

I don't think so. I provides a pretty good baseline for all kinds of different games if used creatively.

I don't think fantasy is overused, but i wouldn't mind seeing more scifi either. Biggest issue, especially for 3d games, is the availability of assets. It's not reasonable for devs to create all the assets themselves when they are usually solo devs doing this as a hobby etc... so they will have to go with what is available on the store.

For me, yeah. I enjoy things grounded in reality, or at least relatable in some way. I guess when I play, it's a roleplaying thing, so I want to be able to imagine myself in the main character. Just becomes impossible the more fantastical it is.

It unlocks the potential to do things that you would never get to experience in real life. A potion or spell can do anything! So I'm 100% in favour of porn based in fantasy settings.

The fuck is this topic lmao, there's a porn game for everything any single topic/setting is both under and overused. The setting doesn't matter busting a fat one does

The problem is not fantasy, the problem is that 99% of the games presented here and on other similar sites, which are set in a fantasy setting, are monstrous graphomania.

NTR and harem, change my mind

As others have pointed out it depends how you use it.
I have seen several good takes on the fantasy genre, besides I prefer medieval and fantasy genres so it's right up my alley too.

I think it depends on like if the story meshes with the setting. Sometimes I see lots of stories that just feel like it would do better in something other than a fantasy genre or just don't make sense at all lol. I find this common with manga, vns, and anime especially in isekai where it feels like they just shoved something random into some fantasy world for the sake of calling it an isekai.

In all the games that i saw, fantasy looks like a underused setting.

he is right, fantasy is in the top 10 genre per number of games but a I think that it's used even when there are few fantasy scenes

I agree, tbh I'd like to see some more better fantasy games.
