When I was still a young teenager, so a few decades agao, I got my hands on a computer magazine. Can't remember the name of the magazine, just remember that it was not specifically focussed on games. Think I got it because it featured an article about putting together your own computer. The issue also featured an article about 'adult' games. It basically stated that those games sold in the west were just games sold in japan with underwear painted over the genitals. A few images were included. For a few months I kept that issue, but it got lost at some point. Might not have developed an interest if, some time later, I had not gotten my hands on "Biing!".

I played a lot of flash games in the past, and I always saw the newgrounds logo on the start. I went to the original site to find more games, and there were adult games, my first experience.

My very young days on Newgrounds. And just typing sex games on google afterwards. After that a while later finding Fate and hearing eroge mentioned in Oreimo made me realise that they exist. Then uploader sites leading me to more than just VNs.
