I am a romantic at heart, so I always like a good build up in the relationship before reaching the lewd scene. If there's a good build-up, then the pay-out aka lewd scenes feels hotter for some reason.

I hold down my mouse to ship through every sex scenes, the graphics suck, the people are terrible looking & the sex scenes are atrocious!!

now if that's a reason to play a lewd game I'm not sure what is, i like the store & the adventure aspect.

100% agree, I find I actually like the read more than the images most of the time. especially if there is a good realistic build up.

The question is obviously as a literary component of a visual novel. If the story deserves attention and is read with interest, then why skip the text? As for the pictures, there are a legion of porn sites at your service. Well, if the story is poorly written, then why waste your time on it? I send such VNs to the trash can without hesitation or regret.

These days, all you need to do is install a neural network on your computer and generate content to suit any taste.
That's why a good story in adult games takes precedence over visuals.

If the author writes a story purely for word count, then in such a game, quick-skipping saves a lot of time and allows you to get to the most interesting part. Like in LiL, for example. I skip all the text that doesn't have a name (I'm only interested in the interactions between the characters in the story, the author's personal point of view on things is not interesting to me, especially in the form of imposition.).

In practice, I'm more likely to skip through lewd scenes than story, especially in games with forced lewd scenes or mandatory LIs.
Feet stuff? Oldies/mother figures? Undeserved scene/lack of build-up? Horrendous writing? No, thanks.

personally once i feel the story poor i just can’t handle it, i do use skip very often. what about you

If the story sucks or the text is unreadable (due to poor grammar or misspellings) I just rip the files. No point wasting my time on what will at most be a quick wank

Like many above have said, I simply can't. The intimate moments with LI's hit sooo much better when there's some attachment from the story there.

İ know a few people just skip everything until scenes.. other than 2 game one of them is Eternum. For me i just play 5 min then judge after that if it needs a skip or not

When trying to get missing scenes filled out in the gallery after playing though it already, or if I lost a save or an update requires a fresh save.
If I feel the need to do it before that the title is clearly not good enough to hold my attention and I just delete and make a notation on the empty folder so I don't get baited into downloading it again.

If the writing is good, I'll stick to reading it. I'f I'm bored with the story, I'll skip to the more interesting parts.
