Unless the writing is unreadable, never. If the writing sucks, I'll forward through the existing content, delete the VN and never go back to it.

Besides when the story sucks I skip it with newer VNs because they don't usually have enough content to make reading it all worth it.

If I'm new to the game, I would play it normally. But if I have played it before, I'd skip it until I'm at the scenes. But if the game is bad but the scenes are good? Skipped.

It depends how horny i am. Sometimes i skip all non-sexual content just to fap one and sometimes afterwards i read the dialogues if the story is good enough.

Depends if I have to read a thousand word play you can bet your ass I'm skipping through the text, and believe me there are games like that.

Only other time I will skip is if I have to replay a game again due to not having a save anymore, or an update forces you to restart.

I go to one of those website that actually host games (usually Ren'py). No links as per board rules.

Then, ALL I do is skip. This is my "try before I buy" (ok, fine, download) kinda thing. Barring exceptions, I nope out of:
1-Five to Ten minutes of max speed scrolling + speed read choices and no sex = avoid.
2-Constant Skip blocking (Single Choice clicks, mother-fucking-should-have-been-drowned-at-birth FULL STOP TILL CLICK ON PHONE options, etc...) = avoid
3-Horrible "silly putty face" graphics and/or constant Angry Female love interest face + Apologetic Kiss Ass MC Face = avoid.

There are exceptions. I've been wrong a few times. But the above skip story for hot scenes of 1- is often an avoid. Hey, some of my reviews rave about the story. Just not most.
I'm too fucking old for slow burns and NO, I won't just WATCH PORN. I like the 3D models, the fuck/do no fuck choices, and everything else is gravy.
That said, a nice fantasy setting (my favourite) doesn't hurt...

Skipping is the only option if you're sitting there for 15 mins with only dialogues and nothing happening... Like you play the game for its lewdness, that's what it's suppose to deliver.
