discussion How important is an engaging storyline to you?

Story for me.
Still if the game or the charachters look ugly I'm probably not gonna play it.

Usually I start because of the appearance of the LI and keep playing if the story get me hooked, so I think both are equally important

I agree with you on that. Obvious thing would be to say that both need to be at least ok to have fun with the game, but i would say art has to be better, its porn game after all - looks are of most importance

For me I think story is the lost important. I will easily replay games with a high qulity in story.
With a good 3D game I will replay sometimes but it’s not garanty

Graphics as I tend to skip through the dialog a fair bit... unless it gets really sexy!

In a AVN "Adult Visual Novel" the visuals need to at least be decent to even be playable. But a good story can carry the game if the visuals are not it's strong suit.

A good story in a VN "Visual Novel" is indeed important. Other wise why play it?

It's best to have both... obviously.

Gotta have some baseline level of quality in both, because if one is exceptional and the other is awful you can't get into it. I'd say the graphics are more important for me because I'm already "pretending", and one or two unrealistic choices/events won't ruin it. However a well-written, correctly punctuated, immersive storyline with stupid graphics is not good. I might as well just read a story on sexstories.com.

hm. i think what first pulls me in are graphics usually, but often if the story is weak i don't stick around. if i read the overview and it doesn't sound interesting i also usually don't bother. story mostly, i think?
