I prefer it to a VM because it is faster and easier to use. I scan it with VirusTotal beforehand. For really suspicious things that I want to open I use a VM.- Dafuking

It is a safety practices recommendation for those who, like me, open a lot of executables on Windows from untrusted sources, not an AD. You shouldn't trust any .exe coming from any developers/forums.
