    I feel it absolutely happens but also people are too quick to cry 'milking' if an update is a couple days too late or the storyline they're personally interested in is going too slowly for their tastes. But it absolutely does happen and when it does it's very scummy behavior.

    Don't have an example off the top of my head but it's definitely a turn-off when they insert an off-character rant about this or that political or cultural issue. Even when I agree it takes me out of the game and leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

    If your game is exceptional I'll probably be there for the next update no matter what. Most games aren't exceptional though, and if it takes longer than 4-6 months for an update its likely I'll have forgotten much of the plot/characters and be wary about downloading again and trying to remember...

    Decent story/characters, though it can be tough to gauge just how good those are at first. I think the first thing I look for is if the game has girls that have different vibes from each other, when I click a release thread and all the girls feel like the same girl with different hair/eye colors...
