ya thats just too much work me im lazy as fuck
lol you compare versions before playing them. anyway i just copy and paste the name of the game i have played under "full name" column and excel takes care of everything else for me, i have put formulas under blue ribbons. so i am actually the laziest here lol

F95checker, and it's doing its job. So I'm fine with this.

i tried using that it just doesn't work for me for w/e reason

i just have a game folder with them all

You must be registered to see attachments
Similar. Games folder with 2 sub folders: completed and abandoned. Abandoned only has a few that I really liked such as "Come Inside". Too better keep track of games, I only keep games that are re-fappable. So only about 130 games. LOL

I should trim mines down. Currently have everything in a single folder. I did download tagspace to tag my games for easy searching, but there's the issue of having to actually go down there and tag everything myself....

The Ren'py saves in the appdata folder holds most of the information for me. Can't be bothered to keep separate notes.

Not formally no. If its a good one I will remember it based on the name and the initial image. If its bad same thing although I think the description helps more for the bad them. For meh ones I might accidently download it at the next update by accident. I think there is only one time that I downloaded played and deleted only to redownload it a few days later. That one was very forgettable

I leave the folder with only saves inside and delete game data.

It's very simple. I keep track of a couple dozen games I'm interested in that are saved on my HDD. Then I follow (twice a day) the sections with the latest updates on island-of-pleasure and Fxxx95. I have one browser specially allocated for such resources, in the tabs of which the discussions of these games on Fxxx95 are open (there are the most complete discussions and news about the work on updates).
And as soon as an update or bugfix appears, I download it.
And memorizing the names of 20-22 games is not a difficult task. The version numbers of downloaded games are in the names of packages with these games on HDD.
If the game is finished and turned out not to be complete crap I dump them on a removable disk, thus making a kind of a small collection.

Here's my secret: I don't.

I started too long ago to think about keeping track and now I'm in too deep to try and remedy it. On the plus side this does mean I sometimes forget about games I've played in the past so when I eventually rediscover them I have a nice backlog of a few updates to keep myself entertained. It's like a nice little surprise gift.

The answer is ... Very poorly. I make very little effort to remember bad or middling games. The exceptional ones i tend to keep, review, or otherwise stand out in mind... the rest I don't spend any time or energy thinking about. And sometimes that means I download the the same mediocre game about once a year, but that's a price I'm apparently willing to pay.

There's a few games I'll keep to memory if I really enjoy them.
But normally, I like to rediscover games as a fresh experience.

i am similar to others here. i keep some real standouts and just leave them. i also have a notepad file for games i am playing with name and version number. i also have a seperate file for games i have finished, on haitus, or that i just plain didn't like and don't plan on playing through.

Actually, what would be nice is an ignore feature, similar to Steam. Where I could curate the list of games I WANT to see updated, simply by virtue of ignoring the ones I don't want to see. (The inverse would inherently exlude new games that might be of interest)

Most of the time I forget what I've played recently. Specific games go to a 📂 to keep track.
Most often it takes the first few images to remind me of I love or hate it.
But most importantly, all the smols get saved in my 🧠.

The easiest thing would be if you could set the latest updates to not show threads you've gone in and ignored.

To answer the thread topic I just have a folder with game folders in it, I've never bothered trying to categorize them other than making folders to put together games with multiple chapters/side games and a folder for a dev if I have a bunch of games from that dev.
