How do you store and organize your games?

I use folders labelled by how interested in the games I am, with labels ranging from meh to currently playing. Finished games get sorted via 1-5 personal rating in their own folders. I tend to remember games based on the names so it is easy for me to organize that way.

I have a major storage shortage. Any good recommendations are appreciated!

SO, at first I actually just used folders, one folder -> unpacked games, until my library got too big.

Then I found xLibrary, which up to a certain version was almost perfect, neat design, convenient to use along with a browser plugin that let me browse game sites and save them to my library with just one click. Versioning, tags, info on available updates, pure gold. But, as I said before, 'up to a certain version,' the app got a redesign, and while it still looked decent and everything seemed okay, they probably added some support for managing the library with local AI, but the real nail in the coffin is a critical bug that can just delete your entire library from the app overnight. Problems with account connection, shitty backup system (doesn't really work).

Later on, in between, there were a bunch of other apps I tried: Playnite, F95Checker, wLib (Linux), and a few others I can't remember right now. But with each one, I ran into some problem, either visually or functionally.

At the end of the day, I found Atlas, which has its own game browser. You browse, click install, and if it finds a supported link, it downloads by itself, and you get to choose what format you want to install it in. You can automatically save, for example, in a format like D:/NSFW/{game_name}/{version}/{files}.

You can save and run different versions of the same game, and even automatically replace the old version with the new one when updating. The only downside is that when downloading multiple games, the download speed is limited, capping at 1MB/s.

I probably keep it like most, I divide it into several folders sorted and encrypted by name)

i just have them all on one folder, i dont see the need to organise them. i remember the ones i like, then forget about the rest.
ive done it a handful of times where i would download the game, then realise that i have played this game before XD, but no harm done in the end.

I'll just let the attachment speak for itself. It's a total mess tbh :ROFLMAO:
Extremely badly, I'm considering switching to Atlas, I just discovered it yesterday and will take a look into in properly in the next days
Yes, the folders started named "1"... "2"... ect and got deleted over the years.
No, there isn't any "discretion" in how the games are put in folders (except the site that is in the name of some folders), when there are too many games in one folder i create a new one
Some of the games I play more frequently are outside the subfolders. Size is about right, there's about 400gb of unprocessed ero-cos too, but I have like another 300-400gb of animations stored on an external drive so it's balanced lol

I just have a hard drive that has all of them. As I download games I let the folders just be New Folder 1 and so on. If I really like a game I'll usually rename the folder just so I can find them easier.

just on my desktop. like just there in plain sight. i have no people that know my PC password so i don't hide it

Hidden deep in my hard drive where (hopefully) no one would look. Not that anyone will because I'd never let them use my pc, but my paranoid ass needs to be satiated with hiding things lol

I don't. It's download, play game and once done erase all files. Keep game in a hidden folder until finished.

One folder for games I'm waiting to play or currently playing. Once I played it, I decide if I want to come back to it or not. If not, I delete in, otherwise it goes into either "completed", "ongoing", or "abandoned", so that I know if I have to check for updates next time I give it a spin or not.

I keep everything on my external hdd, because i don’t have space on my computer for everything.

I do pretty much the same, I download it and put it in a separate folder, if I like the game, keep it and put in complete folder. Any games not marked as completed, I put into a folder work in progress, but I've never kept a game marked abandoned though.

I made a separate folder because I like being thorough, but I only rarely keep abandoned games myself. It was basically just for Hot Sands of Antarctica.

Add another one to the giant unorganized folder with everything in it list. I do try to go organize it every once and a while, but usually don't get that far before it becomes a mess again. I do need to give organizing it another try.

I use two folders for games: one for my favorite games and one for games I've just downloaded or am currently playing

I'm a "mild" orginisational freak, so I end up tweaking my storage formatting every once in a while. I also don't tend to keep many games downloaded and prefer to keep track of them through spreedsheets or tools like F95Checker.

Currently my vile storage format is:
Individual games are stored under a folder with the name of their developer.
Each developer folder contains additional folders for seperating games of different version status i.e. "Final" and "Incomplete" (aka pre-1.0).
Each version status folder contains seperate folders that actually store games that describes my completion status of the game i.e. "Complete", "In-Progress", "Untouched".
Above all of that, each developer folder is stored under another folder based on how many games I have downloaded for that specific dev i.e. 1-2, 2-3, 4+.

All of that for storing like 15 games 🥲
