technically yes. ive met up with online gaming friends in real life and wound up hooking up with some after the get together. but the meeting up was always group thing, like at conventions some of us were already going with irl friends and used it as a chance to meet up in person for fun. but i was almost always the founder or one top 3 leaders of alliances, so it took no effort or energy. i was once offered by a newer alliance member to meet in person for sex in exchange for alliance resources. turned that shit down but man did it really open up my eyes to how much energy and importance people put into their gaming life.

i did know a lot of people to hook up irl though. one of them was always married, and usually it was the woman. most the adult men gamers i knew were divorced single fathers. i had one alliance of mine basically collapse due to jealousy, affairs and other romance related crap. even though i didnt meet up with any of the women in that alliance, i was probably the biggest problem, i flirted shamelessy with all the women, constantly and even noticed they started fighting over me attention in the alliance chat, and when two members got into a relationship in real life, i was still flirting with the woman. half women had my personal number and sent me dirty pics. so yeah the guy who stole a married woman through gaming was kinda being cucked by me emotionally and via dm's and phone calls. however my ingame wife was my pocket healer and we were strictly friends in every sense. we only lost contact when she moved into a rural area with dial up internet and no cell service. lol she couldnt even keep up her myspace page(yup early 2000s) if i ever was gonna have a real relationship with a gaming friend it would have been her. even when i joined an exp party, she'd often follow me out to camp and heal me, whether or not the party had a healer. and we chat on the phone the whole time. like i said, we were friends through and through. but distance and both being single parents, gaming and phone friendship was really all we wanted and had energy for. she just had the sexiest eyes ive ever seen, not just green but unlike resting bitch face, she had resting fuck me eyes and a hypnotic laugh. so if i was gonna hook up intentionally at that time, it would have been her. my only regret is losing contact over time outside gaming. was always a pleasure to talk to. and though i dont maintain any friendships these days, the few i can only remember fondly do make me whistful, as they are really far and few between.

Came close, was actually long distancing with the girl for months, talking on the phone, video chats, then when the time comes for our trip to meet up, she suddenly is having all these excuses not to go, I had to refund the tickets.

Honestly even thinking about it seems kinda vulnerable. I tend to be much more honest online but I know that some people take advantage of that. I would probably get into a relationship with someone from a game / online community but I'd have to know them for years at least.

Long enough time to sus out who they were in their mind. I'd rather not get sucked into a crazy girl's world who just "needs connection". I feel like someone too forward online is likely broken or predatory. (Predatory even if they don't realize it sometimes).
