Has anyone else ever hooked up with someone you met in an online game?

Nope, I'm too shy to talk with others even if it's a game where communication is important. Also, the COD lobbies broke me.

No, and for a very simple reason - I don't play online games.

Besides the fact that there were no "Computers" and therefore no "Internet" WAY BACK THEN
I'm going to go out on a limb and say my grandfather and I were bigger nerds than you were, since the first computer i worked on was his TRS-80 Model 1... in 1977... in his home. If you had an Atari, chances were there were computers TECHNICALLY available, although prohibitively expensive. I think his whole setup would cost around somewhere from $7000 to $9000 in modern prices. He had the base computer, a 20k memory expansion, the monitor, the cassette drive, a micro-wafer drive (early competitor to floppy disks) and a commercial dot-matrix printer. Although you were absolutely correct about there not being an internet. There was a notwork of sorts, but pretty much only in colleges, mostly for staff, in hospitals and medical research facilities, also for staff, or in military installations... and NOT for public use. Granted, you could only send 300 bits per second, so like.... less than 40 characters per second I think?

Met her playing league, found out she lived nearby and invited her to my 21st birthday party. we dated for ~2 years before I got tired of the stick up her ass and she got tired of me being "too emotional" so I broke it off and took her friends. :)

Yes. Twice. It ended out poorly both times... You dont get the more "mentally stable people" in online games, apparently.... Or maybe is a "me" problem

I couldn't even imagine having an online relationship like I'd be consistently worried about saying the wrong thing or having things misinterpreted so I can't even begin to think about actually hooking up with someone I met online especially when I barely know anything about them. I can see why other people do it but it's just not something I think I can cope with

Not hooked up, but I met my best friend in Lord of the Rings Online. A few years ago I made a big move that just so happened to land us a state away from each other. After like 15 years of friendship we met up to go see the Mario movie together on day one. I've got a poster for the movie up on my wall with the theatre ticket glued to the bottom right of it.

classmate he found me playing the same game

never hooked up with a woman from an online game, i DID end up basically quitting Final Fantasy XI tho, over a woman in game.

a woman from my linkshell, i partied OFTEN with her, her husband, and son. often. i was friends with her before him. but at some point she decided she wanted to meet. and i was like no, i'm married AND i'm also friends with your husband. she did not care.

she kept pushing it, messaging me often, trying to intimate chat while we were literally in party with her son and husband. i didn't trust her not to continure to escalate AND it made me not want to play the game anymore, so i bounced, straight up ghosted.

I can't say I hooked up with someone I met in a videogame but I have hooked up and dated some girls who I met on the internet. It's in the same ballpark, kind of. There was a girl that I met playing FFXIV and we got pretty close but at the time it just didn't work out.

I never have, but one of my best friends did. And he's been married to her for nearly 2 decades now.

I assume it's different now than it was more than 2 decades ago.

Not much different, men and woman still find eachother - i mean i dont - but i hear things xd

Used to almost no women in games, but things have changed depending on what kinda game u play. easier to meet women in games now

Got a close friend who just moved in with a woman he met in a game

It happened once. I met a woman in neighbored city, I have known for a while through an online game. First just for a cup of coffee and to talk about the game. It ended in a short affair.

I caught a few baddies into long distance relationships and received way too many nudes, but it never got to meeting in person due to financial issues. Unfortunately the internet isn't like what it used to be from 2008 till 2016. If I could find a decent chat site I might try my luck again.
