hate the HS2 chinesse loking faces, also the hand draw cant be very atractive.... a big no to models from Light of My Life.... those AI computer genrated are so atractive !!!

It very much depends, but I picked Hand Drawn, simply because it's the most forgiving. 3D needs to be very good to not look very bad, while hand drawn stuff is a lot more of a gradient.

Case in point: any hand drawn pixel art game from the 90's looks fantastic today, but most of the early 3D stuff has aged really badly, even if it was considered state of the art back then.

It has to be hand drawn to me, although Live2D takes my overall spot. Also enjoyed cell shading at the time.

Good 3d is usually my favorite, but its also so accessible that it can be very lazy and bad. Whereas with hand drawn you have to have a lot more artistic vision to even start so its rarely bad. I've not come across too many pixel art games that are compelling to me but I'm not against it.

Depends a lot on the quality.
If we're talking about the three of them at their peak, then to me it's: Hand-drawn > PixelArt > 3D

Nice thread idea! As many stated already, it depends on the quality and a variety of aspects determine that for me. Generally though, as long as I find the art style appealing, I prefer Hand Drawn > 3D > Pixel . And although I consider hand-drawn art my favorite, it can easily be off-putting if I don't find the style to be any good.

For 3D it also depends on the software used, whereas DAZ is probably the most common and solid one, while Blender, Unreal, Autodesk Maya / Max are even more advanced. In contrast, there are the ones I dislike, such as any of the Illusion games (Honey Select, Koikatsu etc.), VAM and the like. 3D is especially tricky because it can depend on so many artistic and technical factors: composition, lighting, posing, model quality and so many others.

For pixel art though, while I generally don't find it very visually stimulating, there are some rare exceptions that I find just as good as hand-drawn art. Some pixel artists are simply amazing. It pretty much depends on the level of detail, so I added a comparison for example:

You can probably guess which one is the superior (beyond compare, really) animation imo. :geek:
So yeah, it can vary wildly if done right or terribly. And that goes for any art type.

hmm hard to say. generally I'd say maybe hand drawn though 3d is also very nice

If I had to choose one and the others disappear, I would choose hand drawing for its beauty and variety of styles. The looseness and organic aspect of the drawings give the trophy to the most satisfying medium to enjoy. But I like all kinds of styles because in variety lies the pleasure and all three can arouse different emotions.

Hand Drawn is king for sure, I've replayed several of them and i can't think of a single 3D game I've played more that once.

Hand Drawn games I like but they can literally have 20 updates that amount to 1 hand job so I don't like them that much.
Pixel art i like more but the pixelation tends to break immersion every now and then.
3d is best depending on the devs skill, but you also tend to see a lot of short reused animations.
