Grind games but as long as the scenes are not bad and the grind isn't long as hell

Hey,
what type of games do you prefer?
I can't really make up my mind about that topic.
Sometimes I like when you don't have to do anything at all to get to the lewd scenes in games and other times I like when you have to work for your pleasure. It feels more satisfying then for me.
Two of my favorite games are OSiL and Bernd and the mystery from Unteraltenbach.
OSiL is really straight forward and a pleasure to play but for Bernd to get the girls he likes you have to work hard and fight through numerous Game Over screens if you messed it up.
But if you finally hook up with the girl, the excitement is even bigger for me.
So, a quick fap or pleasent anticipation? What do you think?
I like games straight to the point.
Nice name btw.
You are the pro version of me lol

There is a definite sweet spot. Generally, as long as the grind doesn't take that long, it won't bother me. I'm not gonna grind for over an hour for a mid sex scene though. At that point, I'll just download a full save and watch the gallery.

It depends on the mood. Sometimes i need a Nukige kind of game, that rewards me as much as it can as soon as it can, and sometimes i prefer the slower approach, to build for the price.

I would say that my preferred type would be one with some main girls you have to work to get, while you get some rewards on the way (like her horny friends or something like that)

as long as there is a clear progression, and i dont have to keep doing the same loop wondering if anything is changing

For me there seems to be a third option. The word "grind" always brings to mind sandbox grinding (so hate that), and game overs (so glad most Dev's don't do that shit anymore). So my third option and it's kind of related to your "pleasant anticipation" is the slow burn, I'll choose that 9 times out of 10.

Some mild grind it's great as it builds up the story with increasing rewards and lewd scenes.
No grind is awful as you don't feel rewarded, you're a looter in a field that isn't yours.
When where's too much of it you lose the grip on the story, feels forced and ruins the joy of playing. There are some games that see repetition of the same 4 clicks, sleep, repeat. Hate that, feels like recent Ubisoft games.

If grind is implemented well, I'm a fan. If it's just always the same clicks repeated, or even worse: slow minigames (pizza delivery in summertime saga comes to mind), that's when I dislike it.
One grindy game I enjoy is "Just One More Chance", where the grind is across many runs of a simulation of your college days, in a new game+ style.

I'd agree that a balance is key, but i would prefer a game with no grind over a gam with too much grind.

I mean, why not both?
It really depends on several factors. Some (most) days I want a story, I want to feel like I am living an alternate life where young hot babes like me again..
Other days I just wanna see boobs and kitties.

I enjoy linear games lately. I'm fine if there is plenty story, if it's good, I'll read and enjoy it but sometimes I skip forward to get to the fun content.
I don't enjoy sandbox games too much since they just deliver less content for more effort/time. I don't want immersion if it's just annoying.

as long as the grind is well implemented, like everyone else said, balance is key.

I'd rather not have to grind too much tbh. like i understand wanting to make the player earn it but idk id rather not

To much grinding is a mood killer especially when you have to do the same every playday.
