Serious question: Since they are often placed outside, do they ever get dirty? And if that's the case, how are you supposed to clean them? Can you just throw them into the washer and be done with it? I expect them to be more delicate

by hand, colour safe liquid detergent and a soft/medium toothbrush; cold water ONLY! you put soap on the toothbrush and clean the surface and under the folds, then rinse and dry with a towel
it takes about 10 minutes
you can also use a washing machine, but only if: (1) it's a top loader (2) has a cold setting (3) you only wash one fumo at a time.
