One hundred percent. It would be very dull if we all liked the same things. I generally look for the highest rated games if I want to start a new one and some of them - Mist was the worst - just don't do it for me at all. This one was kinda 'meh', but it keeps getting good reviews, so some time when I have no others on the go I will try it again. It seems to be updated pretty regularly, so there should be quite a bit more story to get into by now.

High quality Honey Select games are always appreciated. Well made in general with an interesting story but it didn't grab me at first, sat on the shelf for a good couple of months after having first started it. But I did end up picking it back up and it was a great experience. So yeah, give the game a shot. At least a couple of hours.

I really like this VN and I've played a lot of others. The picture and animations are of a high level here. But as far as I remember, there was no sound, only music.

Then you misremember - Cari is a master at melding subtle (and occasionally not-so-subtle) sounds with the perfect music for each scene. He doesn't simply play a rotating track of 8 or 10 or 20 songs that really have little to do with whatever scene may be playing. Maybe you have the sound slider too low or the music slider too high, but this VN is the whole damn package, and that takes time to make. He took a little longer after taking a break for the last release, but he's supposed to be back on about a 6 month release schedule. My benchmark for playtime for a high quality, well produced VN is about a half hour to forty five minute of single-run game play for each month of development, and Cari hasn't disappointed yet. I'm also a reader, not a skip-to-fap guy, so I enjoy the time and story as well as the scenery. I also don't speed read, but read at a conversational pace for a normal human being - not ultra fast nor slow and drawl-ly, unless that's consistent with the background of the character.

If you still have the last release on your device, open it up and do a replay of one of the scenes and if you aren't hearing sound effects, check you volume settings. I usually turn the music slider down to around 60% and have sound slider up at about 80% in most VNs, including this one, to get the balance I like.

This is by far the best game currently in ongoing developement, IMO. The writing, renders and characters are all brilliant. If you haven't already dived in, treat yourself.
