Overview:​

You’re moving with your best friend to the city of Kredon, home to some of the best schools and universities in the country, to continue your studies. However, in Kredon, there’s only one thing everyone talks about: ETERNUM—the virtual, hyper-reality MMORPG game released a few years ago that revolutionized the world of technology.

With a neural implant that recreates the five senses, it becomes impossible to distinguish between the game and the real world.
Thousands of servers form the network of Eternum: from colorful, magic-filled fantasy worlds to foggy sci-fi cities, no world is beyond reach.
Nevertheless, looking beyond the surface, there's a darker side to this pretty facade: black markets, torture, rape, illegal content trafficking, unlawful assemblies, data theft… Eternum follows the rules of no man.
For some reason, governments turn a blind eye to this; there’s no regulation and no control. Some say it’s because the game is highly addictive, some say it’s because the market moves millions of dollars daily, some say those in power have been bribed, and others say… there’s something else going on.
And you? What’s your role in this story?

This VN come from one of the few dev's that really know how to use the honey select engine, all females are incredibly attractive, one of the issues that plague VN's using this engine is the hand and feet disproportion, happy to say that in this VN it's not. Funny and interesting story, likeable characters and a mc that is not a moron, something that 90% of the VN's tend to do. Really, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

This VN come from one of the few dev's that really know how to use the honey select engine, all females are incredibly attractive, one of the issues that plague VN's using this engine is the hand and feet disproportion, happy to say that in this VN it's not. Funny and interesting story, likeable characters and a mc that is not a moron, something that 90% of the VN's tend to do. Really, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

In most HS games it's true about hands and feet disproportion but in this game's case there's another problem: the zombie-like appearance of the main character. At the scene where he fingers Annie in the virtual reality (which later turns into an "Alien" spin off) you can clearly see his hands and fingernails which look like the hands of a corpse - almost blue-ish, depraved of blood flow. His entire body is the same. Not in every scene, but in most of them it does look like a corpse. And the same applies to his other game "Once in a lifetime" where the MC also looks like a walking corpse.
Not to mention his ridiculously big dick which makes the girls sucking it look like creatures from "Supernatural". No woman can open her mouth that much naturally and even if somehow she manages to do that, she'd suffocate.
Clearly the creator has small dick issues, otherwise I don't see any logical reason to make the MC's dick that big.

The dick issue would apply to 99% of VN's to be honest, the " suck that big dick" line got old pretty fast, and I agree with the skin tones, but again in most VN's that is happening a lot, I get the inclusive skin colors an all but can we get rid off with the zombie crap.

The story and characters drive this VN, overcomming the limited visuals of HS. Character models are all a little too cutesy (or scary bad - looking at you Micaela) but the personalities are interesting and the puzzels are fun. So I like it... despite the limitations of the graphics engine.

Anyone have an idea of how many updates Eternum will have? I have been holding off playing it until it is completed. Really enjoyed Once in a lifetime playing it like that. Just wondering.

The art is top notch, so are the renders. Still not quite Once in a Lifetime, on my all time favorite visual novel list. Maybe it will get there.

As many others I played Caribdis first game Once in a Lifetime, loved it and I love Eternum too. With one little exception, a scene where it to me feels like the dev is attacking people who play games with sexualized underaged NPCs.

Spoiler: Minor scene spoiler

I'm talking about the scene in the western world, where a ****phile player is about to do something sexual with a small boy NPC. That player has a gizmo that can hack NPCs to change their behaviour. The MC can choose between letting the ****phile player go or killing him, but to get some extra love points with a major love interest one must kill him.
To me this seems like a pretty overt barb directed towards player of loli and shota games.

Spoiler: OBS!! MAJOR PLOT SPOILER!!

Now, at this point in the game the MC has learned the great secret that NPCs in the game might be actual people trapped in the game, and if the MC kills the ****phile player it is because the NPC child might have been an actual child trapped in the game. However, the ****phile player explicitly doesn't know that - he says that he would never ever to this to a real child and this is just a fantasy.

Apart from this scene the game is, just as OiaL, very well written and with an interesting storyline. Yes, the MC's dick has about the length of his own thigh an the girth of his wrist, and it feels like one can almost expect a future scene where he visits an ice-world and and clubs small baby seal to death with it. And all the girls have really big butts, even the ones that are supposed to be petite. I don't mind that, for me this is a good VN game with adult scenes more than it is a porn game with some story added.

Eternum is probably one of the best avn's currently under development. Top notch visuals, great story so far. I'm interested in which direction the game will go once it's nearing its completion. However give me more Luna content before that!

This is Top tier, doesn't get much better. Game is fantastic by any metric. Great characters, great story, great sound, etc. You would be doing a disservice to yourself to not give this game a try if you're a fan of the genre. Trying to find some negative and honestly can't. On top of being a great game it has a great developer. Updates are consistent and fairly timely. 5 out 5
