I'm REALLY sensitive to people's writing styles, so if it's too different, it'll feel off to me. I even opened the game files and read K's original drafts of unreleased chapters in French, so I'm super familiar with how he writes both before and after translation. Dark Games seems to be doing a good job with the lighting and textures; we'll see if the perspective and camera angles line up as well. K did a really good job of using space, centering or decentering subjects as needed, and using focus to drive attention. I know most people don't care about that shit, but all of this is part of why K is one of the best in this space.
Do you ever see games where the dev just plops the characters in the middle of every frame, or situates them equidistant from each other? Where the shadows seem off due to a bad angle or poor light sourcing? Where the color palette seems to change from scene-to-scene due to inconsistent lighting? Even in games with high-quality renders, sometimes people just don't pay enough attention to things like that. I appreciate the minutiae and attention K pours into his work, as well as his unique style and voice, and any deviation from that--whether on the visual or rhetorical front--will be highly noticeable.
