Abandoned VN Ren'Py EGBE [Prologue v0.3.3b] [Ketzal]

5.00 star(s) 1 review
TLDR: On 9-11 (not the 2001 version, only a couple of stupid replaceable buildings got knocked down then) all his payment platforms were nuked too at about the same time (within a few hours) so that made him say fuck making lolis so he quit and now makes Patreon junk like everyone else.
This is our 9/11 😔

Fixed for you.
There is no such thing as both Patreon friendly and quality. Epic renders are not everything. At this point they might as well ban all porn and I will just laugh when (not if) they do. Itch did exactly that for a few days back in July before backtracking, so it's just a matter of time.

Why the idea of using a Game as a front to get funded while releasing the real game links here would not work?

Tried and failed. That's what SMTL aka TP was for. Though I think he did a foolish move and later put SSP/EGBE links on the front AVN's page which led to all the 9-11 crap though not certain of that since I quit SS and moved to Mee6 8-9 months before that. There are a few loli devs left that do similar to that, but even less and just leave the SS page mostly blank while telling subs to go elsewhere for the links/update info/etc (usually here or a private Discord).

Well if there is at least one dev doing then it means it’s possible. Very simple solution if you think about. Probably the future of this business

Can someone give me a link to or a summary of what happened? I understand his discord was nuked, but why is the game marked as abandoned? Did he say he quit?
The non hard-ass response is that he is abandoning making loli games because this is not the first time he's been targeted for the content he makes. And he is exhausted because of it. Making games is how he makes his living and he does not want to keep living in fear by the idea that all his work could be taken away from him in the blink of an eye. So he is adjusting to non loli games, sadly.

The future of the business is moving to cryto and just making their own platform/webpage. Fuck platforms, too unreliable and sooner or later they will simply ban all porn or links to it when their puppetmasters tell them to the same way Youtube has ever since Google bought them and ruined it when they decided to kiss advertiser ass back around 2017 (Google practically owns the internet, they didn't need to kiss advertiser ass since they'd get those ad $ one way or another with just some other subsidiary if they want to advertise on the internet at all, if anything they should be kissing Google's ass and pay them double rates for a year just for annoying them).

This would be the ideal scenario: imagine SSP and EGBE having their own website, and through the site being able to allocate credits to fund the DEV via crypto. The problem is the process, if it were something very simple, a process you could learn in a two-minute tutorial and that people would gradually start using and adapt to, in theory what could go wrong?

By the way, I keep thinking, SSP was banned from 95 in an update that Ket, at the time, thought he could release without a patch, and everything went wrong. But if he had kept the patch there as well, would the current situation be better or worse?

SSP was removed by F95 early on, like 0.4, simply because he didn't want to deal with a patch that would have been 2-3 or even 10x bigger than the base AVN, which would have had hardly any content by itself (kinda happens that way when the entire story is built upon a foundation of lolis and shotas). Really he has proven you don't need F95 to do ok once it's had a few updates to where most people already know of it's existence, word of mouth on other sites like Discord and other less prudish AVN sites that don't have a Rule 7 will do the rest.

I don't know about that. There are a lot of people that only came to this forum because SSP wasn't on f95 anymore. If it had never been posted there I don't know if it would've gained the same amount of support. Or at the very least the support wouldn't have grown as fast as it did.

Yeah, probably, but he played it smart and didn't lewd the lolis from the first update (Alice could pass as 18 even though she was 15 as canon). By the time he did with Leana after close to a year it probably already had 80-90% of everyone that would ever be interested anyway.

Simple answer: nothing would change
Making an own website has the same risks to get reported and taken down as the Discord one. Almost all website hoster I know won't allow the smol content either

self-host, problem solved. Where do you think the outright illegal stuff is hosted? Certainly not Go-Daddy. Granted you could also just get an overseas host similar to this site's that simply doesn't give a shit about the opinions of a bunch of Australian Karens and takes crypto as payment, but that isn't cheap if the monthy donation calls are any indicator.

I mean it would depend. If he self-hosted the site and if he lives in a place where that type of content is not illegal, the site would be fine, but he would still run into issues with payment processors unless he went with the crypto route. But most people don't want to use crypto so I don't know if he would get the necessary amount of support to work on the games full-time.

I'm still waiting for PP's like Visa/MC to get greedy and try to expand to China (presently very limited with work-arounds), where they'd have to ban porn altogether to be allowed to operate/deal with banks there. Once that happens everyone would happily either learn to use crypto or do without porn, other than the 20yo free shit everyone has already seen on tube sites.

Do you really think I haven't already tried everything? I can assure you that I have consulted... let's say professional advice on every subject, and the answer is always the same. Whether it's in a week, a month, a year, or even five years, everything will be destroyed, because no one wants to see it, and not enough people can finance this work to make it possible to live with the risk of losing everything.

I've tried everything, I've thought of every solution, it's impossible. So, no, I'm not going to hide, get into crypto, or whatever other crazy idea I might have. Whatever the solution, the risk is always there, and yes, with a certain amount per month/year, it is possible to assume the risk, but, out of 135,000 people who played my games, yes, I made an estimate over four years. Only 1,280 people supported my work. I thank them from the bottom of my heart, and I was able to live and save up to deal with what is happening today, but not enough to take the risk of losing everything again.

Yea that is 100% understandable. In your position I wouldn't want to risk it either.

That’s a good explanation. Makes total sense. Well, i guess this is the end of game+

Nah there are still a few games here that make it worth it, but losing both SSP and EGBE was a heavy blow. I think when the stuff with Westy happened a lot of us wanted to believe that it only happened to him because he lived in australia. But the reality is that even if this type of content doesn't get you in trouble with the law where you live, platforms still don't want to host it so sooner or later you will end up being kicked out.
