Well Juliet is 13 about to be 14 and her mother claims to already have given birth at the same age, so if it came out today I wouldn't be surprisedNext step they'll ban Shakespeare I guess.

Yea unfortunately you are not wrong. Every time a game like this ends up abandoned because the dev can't monetize it, I always see people in these threads saying that the dev should just work for free. I would love to see some of those people trying to balance having a full-time job and family life, while also working on a game like this and see how long they would last.People that only blame platforms are very wrong, it's the community that always find a reason to hate any artist for this kind of art, especially when they DARE to make a living doing this and pretty much the only thing people accept is if you do it for free, but they also want in return high quality art/animations and constant releases.
I have by now a lot of people, if I count them it's prob 3 digits by now demanding me in DMs to give them my content for free, that I shouldn't monetize my content, that I am a scumbag because I try to sell MY STUFF I CREATE, etc. How dare I do that...how dare this creators try to make a living doing what they like instead of working a real job like me, and create something people want and lacks in this space.
It's something that you have no clue how bad it is until you are in their shoes and see it with your eyes, you are expecting it to be you with your community against this platforms but then you quickly find out the community is your biggest enemy as a creator, most platforms wouldn't even ban most creators if it wasn't for few haters going out of their ways to harm you and you constantly feel like you are watched to finally make a wrong step to trigger this people.
Said it many times before, but yeah if I knew all this before I started to be a creator, I wouldn't even think about starting it, it's only OK to do it as a hobby in your free time and never try to monetize it to justify put more effort into doing more and higher quality, but when you try to monetize your content, hell break lose from every direction, so just keep it a hobby, make few renders/loops per year and maybe share your stuff to the community if you think it worth the risk for few likes/appreciations and that's it. Or just do safe vanilla stuff, but the internet is already full of that, so you must be very good.

Nothing, absolutely nothing that requires you to spend your time working instead of doing something else deserves to be free. I myself once had a YouTube channel, made hundreds of videos, but it didn’t work out. That was hours every day thrown away. In a way, I used to think, “this isn’t essential content for people” but that’s just self-deprecation.People that only blame platforms are very wrong, it's the community that always find a reason to hate any artist for this kind of art, especially when they DARE to make a living doing this and pretty much the only thing people accept is if you do it for free, but they also want in return high quality art/animations and constant releases.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a YouTube video, a character image, character videos, whatever it is, if it takes your time and effort, it does deserve to be monetized. And anyone who thinks otherwise is free to do it for free. But you know what? They won’t. So screw them, they’re ignorant and stupid. Just believe in that.
It's very easy for people to talk shit, when they aren't the ones spending hundreds of hours creating these games and having to deal with all the BS that comes with it. I don't know if people just got so used to pirate games, that they ended up forgetting that stuff costs money and people need money to live, but there is this weird group of people that look at devs trying to monetize their games as a bad thing.Nothing, absolutely nothing that requires you to spend your time working instead of doing something else deserves to be free. you just defined the reason for "a pirate site" and the reason people pirate games. It's very easy for people to talk shit, when they aren't the ones spending hundreds of hours creating these games and having to deal with all the BS that comes with it. I'll agree with the caveat that some people's work is so amateurish/poor that this doesn't apply. You don't pay your teacher to read and grade your creative writing prompt short story in grade school, and you shouldn't pay for amateur poorly written and/or rendered garbage porn. Which this obviously is not, but there's a ton of it out there.Nothing, absolutely nothing that requires you to spend your time working instead of doing something else deserves to be free. Here’s my point: it’s not that you can’t produce free content, whatever it may be. But from the perspective of the creator, if it takes effort and time, and they feel it’s not worth producing for free just for fun, then they simply shouldn’t feel it’s okay to keep doing it for free. Even if it’s the worst art in the world or whatever, in the end, from the creator’s point of view, they need financial incentive to keep going. It’s both a mental and physical thing, especially if they want to make it their life.I'll agree with the caveat that some people's work is so amateurish/poor that this doesn't apply. I am not sure if this would be good for him. The self-proclaimed "white knights" might read that, too, and the witch hunt would go on.Is someone able to give a "warning" when the new game that "you know who" is creating will go out?
if you are the person that posted this exact same thing on a.t.f ?Is someone able to give a "warning" when the new game that "you know who" is creating will go out?
Yeah… and I doubt he’d feel satisfied making just a vanilla, normal game either. If he really feels that strongly about it, maybe the urge to create what he actually enjoys will come back. And hey, nobody’s gonna judge him negatively for going back to it.Well, it's a sad situation, I supported his projects for a few months and I hope everything works out for him and he can turn things around, but I won't support his next games, I won't play boring vanilla crap
He is already working on a new game to put on patreon, so at the very least, he would rather work on a "boring" vanilla game, than going back to having a normal job.Yeah… and I doubt he’d feel satisfied making just a vanilla, normal game either. But maybe that’s just me being resigned and disillusioned, haha.
