I already offered 1 input for an alternative way for the devs continue, now for another:

What if they decided it was time to give "little people" aka dwarves / midgets their chance in the spotlight of AVNs? The fact they happen to look like lolis is no longer an issue, they are "absolutely over 18" after all so saying anything makes the complaint biased against people with dwarfism .

Then if somebody who isn't the dev made an age change patch for the game, it wouldnt be the devs responsibility when it releases in "less reputable " sites.

Im just spitballing at this point because I really dont want games like this to fade into nonexistence

There are countries that don't look what is the character, but what it represents.
If you make a little character and you say "it's a dwarf" but she looks like a smol, anyway in those countries it's a crime and so white knights will come

an example
if in a fantasy hentai there is a smol, but she is actually a thousand-year-old dragon, anyway she looks like a smol, so it's a crime in those countries

Theres a different between a smol and a dwarf. i dont find dwarves/midgets appealing at all, and i think it wouldnt work for most people.

Well, it's not a 'game' in its full meaning, there's just part of the prologue available.

I'd like to see someone actually try at some point so we can confirm it but i seriously doubt it, most people would be stopped by the exchange asking you to send a photo of your id thanks to all the KYC requirements in most countries nowadays

when you put out your crypto address & someone reports it for "what they see as wrong" and if enough people report it it'll get shut down

paying cash or in product is the only way to go

Until someone actually tries funding one of these games, only using crypto we will not know if it's possible. I think from all the devs, Ket was probably the most likely to succeed because he probably was the biggest dev of this genre and his community is super loyal to him.

You can't shut down a crypto address, and you'd be using a wallet to receive the money. And crypto payment gateways use a new address per transaction so even if you were sending it straight from an exchange they woulnd't be able to tell who you're giving money to.
The problem is sending crypto, not receiving it. Specifically helping people who have never used it

I even later did a poll about it and not a single person choose the crypto option.
I now understand why so many smol devs end up switching to mainstream content.

Yea crypto is something that people just don't want to use. Even when devs get kicked out of patreon and have to move to Subscriebstar, they lose a lot of subs because people don't want to use their credit cards instead of paypal. Crypto is a way bigger jump. And after all the crypto scams and stuff like that, people just don't trust it.

I had a short talk with ketzal and besides him being frustrated and rumbling a lot about some people's reaction to the whole situation (which I will not quote here), he also asked me to pass on some words.



So if you stumble across ketzal (under a different name) in the future, please restrain yourself from mentioning his old name and work. At least in public.

Let's hope that some day, when he made peace with what happened and he finds a secure way to get support for his work, we will see some more games like SSP and EGBE.

I doubt he really believed that, he put his heart into his work, I know he loved doing it, every word, every scene, I just wanted to first understand, what exactly happened in general? was his discord deleted? the platform where he received donations? did he get threats? what exactly happened? I don’t think explaining this would be a problem, right?

it’s like taking a beautiful painting you created, felt proud of, was recognized for, and being forced not only to abandon it but also to defend breaking it apart, things shouldn’t be this way

He was able to dodge issues for so long, and people saying that he's facing "more serious problems than we know" is making me think he ran afoul of some AI related law somewhere random that has jurisdiction he didn't take into account. IDK why anyone was pushing for AI to be used on this work in the first place when it's already so fraught. This is such a shitty way for this whole saga to end when he was so careful and dedicated to his craft.

I get what you're saying, but youre not getting what I was saying. The "dwarf" approach is a cover to be able to make loli content in an attempt to get away with it.

Think of it this way: She is actually eight but she is "18 with dwarfism" for the sake of being able to keep the content flowing. Don't think of her as a little person from then on and you have the same game but with at least slightly improved odds of keeping the game funded.

Then, later on an "unrelated " dev comes in and makes a patch to remove the dwarfism section of the code and indicate her true age. The original dev cannot be held liable for the actions of "others " you see.

In my mind, legal issues would be the only thing that meet that bar... actually you know what maybe some crazy people found his real identity or something, that would be just as bad...

I was thinking something like that too, it would be good if someone who knows could just confirm if it’s at that level, and not just financially or anything like that
