Does anyone usually skip parts of visual novels? If so, what parts?

When there's too much yakking/internal dialogue. Also - handjob/blowjob/titjob/footjob scenes.

I do. Mostly meaningless dialogues. There's so many games that for some reason think that telling a story requires "normal" amount of talks between character. People in general talk much. Especially during meals or such. But omg in games this talks are so boring.

Recently I played a PowerVacum. Family gathers to have a breakfast together. As story progress there's slightly different dialogue. This is so boring.

Or A Wife and a Mother. Every fucking time that Sophie goes somewhere with someone, they need to spend some time small talking. Like why? To make it more realistic? Well I don't need that. I know characters take a dump once a day. I don't need to be shown that either.
But let's be honest in AWAM it's probably intentional just to milk dummies.

That is the biggest milikng/blueballing game ever.

If I ever feel the need to skip some parts, I usually stop playing altogether. If I liked the renders, I quickly check the gallery mod if it's available and then delete the game.

I legit give a chance to the story. Dating My Daughter had a nice writing and as ugly as they are in Light of My Life, the writing is also nice.
But other games like The Guardian just keep going on and on and on with a bunch of weird twists and nonsense that one can not endure all the reading.

Even if I like the story, it CAN have tedious parts. And I always skip handjob/blowjob/titjob scenes as they do nothing for me and footjob as I find that gross.

Yeah, TG started out good, but went too weird, then added that all powerful, all knowing enemy he always puts in his stories...

I always skip the texts except when I manage to translate the meaning or with a mod! thanks to translation team 🖖

easy answer would be stuff i cant fap too. but even easier would be if noone is on screen

I usualy skip the internal monologues
So much this. Cannot stand when the MC's internal monologues are just variations of the same thing over and over. How many times do I need the MC to tell me "there is no god, so I can do what I want", "there are no consequences to my actions so why do the right thing?", or "boohoo, I'm a messed up person for the things I do, but I won't stop because it feels good".

Definitely agree. Internal dialogue is boring if any more than minimal. When it's a novel it makes the game bad.

I like it when the game has a slow progression. But i skip often in japanese games they have too much text

depends on the game really, if its something i can get invested in, ill read through even the more boring parts, but if its just going on and on for a while about nothing at all i start skipping. Or if the renders and scenes are nice, but the plot has gone completely off the rails (looking at you The Guardian and 23 sisters)

It depends. If the VN grips me right from the start, I won't be skipping anything. On the other hand, if what I get is not exactly great, but not bad enough for me to abandon it entirely, I'll skip through at least some of the stuff that does not interest me.

If its a tangent that doesnt have a good hook to keep me interested, my eyes glaze over and i skip.

yes your character is great but do i really need to sit through 2 tolkien esc pages of their story about going to new york?

Yeah, indeed the continuous regurgitation of what has been said before from the internal perspective not adding anything to the actual stories.
