If I just wanted to look at fucking, then there is no end of other sites with pictures of real people I can watch.
I want to feel like I am participating in whatever lewd fantasy is going on.
So: immersion, by a vast margin.

There are so many things that could put me off a game. Could be bad renders, where the models have some unsettling faces. Could be a bad translation. Stupid mini games that I cannot avoid.

I do not think the story line itself is the make or break point. Sometimes a more outlandish story can help a VN. Other times it is a hinderance.

Also, a big red flag that breaks immersion for me in games is when the dev feels the need to show paths that seem accessible only to then cockblock you with the age-old classic "support me on XYZ platform to access this"

Damn guess I'm lucky enough to not have seen this so far, most supporter only stuff ive seen is just cheats or early access

There's a lot of very silly porn games out there, that usually feel completely detached from reality, which might be a good thing.
Then there are some very immersive games with good storylines that aren't completely off the rails.

honestly I believe every porn game enjoyer goes through certain stages. First, they find a famous porn game with a relatively good storyline that make wanna play more. after some time and more famous porn games, they start to search for games that are more specific to their "preferences" and start looking for less famous games, after some time, they are tired of starting the same process of understanding the stories and sorts and just want to go straight to the action, hence the "mindless fucking" in many nsfw games recently. Then it kinda loops itselt because after some time you will start looking once again for a game with a good storyline.

Yes, I definitely want immersion. Without it, it's just porn.
But I can experience immersion even in the most unrealistic settings, if the game is well made.

Immersion is a tricky thing. You can have immersion in the most bizarre setting, if done properly, or you can have it ruined in the most mundane environment. Like most other people said, adult games without immersion are just plain porn; there is no reason to put brain power into that.

Immersion is a massive term, but if i felt i was fully immersied in the games i played i think it would take the fun out of it. Would i really like to have elevern women up the duff one of them being my landlady and another one my younger house mate.

To me, the credibility of characters is important. This is a key factor for immersion. However, if you are speaking of renders, play with perspective etc, then also dumb sex scenes can be quite immersive.

I don't need to feel immersed in the world of the game, or place myself in the MC's shoes.

I want realistic characters, and there to be some level of story/motivation. Most games I dislike despite having good art have little/no story, and it just feels like an image gallery.
