There's a lot of very silly porn games out there, that usually feel completely detached from reality, which might be a good thing.
Then there are some very immersive games with good storylines that aren't completely off the rails.

What do you guys prefer in nsfw games?

Pointless fuckfests feed my recycle bin.
But even the most surreal fantasy or scifi settings can come with a good story. Not the setting determines the immersion, only the story does.
However, real immersion only works without dicks for me. While i can enjoy the story of male protagonists in many different settings, it always breaks every immersion as soon as i need to skip the disgusting sex scenes and no female protagonist game is able to escape my recycle bin if i run into an unavoidable dick, thats an insta-delete dealbreaker that no story could ever prevent.

I find that dealing with reality daily is stressful enough, I don't need that level of realism or immersion in my games, especially not the NSFW kind, but in saying that, if the story is told in a broken language or the grammar makes it headache inducing then it's an instant skip/bin for me, but as above the story for me is one of the biggest selling points of games, I'm not against male, female or futa protag, the only tags that will get me to delete or ignore a game faster than a lightning bolt from Zeus is Shota, that is not something I will ever be into, I tend to avoid games if they are all about the player being the loser who gets everything taken from him, because why the hell would I want to see that in a game when I lived.

Also, a big red flag that breaks immersion for me in games is when the dev feels the need to show paths that seem accessible only to then cockblock you with the age-old classic "support me on XYZ platform to access this"

I usually don't care either way, as I have never felt "immersed" in a porn game, but I have quite enjoyed some nonetheless. If the story is interesting or it has interesting mechanics or ideas I don't care if it is almost like a Powerpoint presentation.

.... I read the tittle as a threat. But yea. I want immersion. I want the world of the game/fantasy in entering to make internal sense, to be credible within its own rules/lore. It can still be a funny or silly game, it can even have metacommentary point it out. If I wanted just porn, i wouldnt be playing a game

mostly.. but fun unrealistic games can be good to sort of depends on the story/writing. But overally i want the more realistic style over the completely goofy style most days.

Immersion comes with good game design. IE: no unnecessary clicking on things, no mini games, no pointless "choices", etc. We all know the things we don't like or annoy us. A good story helps but isn't completely mandatory, some bad stories have kept my attention. Having to stop and untangle meanings, bad grammar or incorrect pronouns can break immersion. Sometimes I just want a silly fun one to entertain me and lighten my mood. I guess this boils down to: it depends. :)

Definetely agree with this.

It helps to stops me from dropping the game instantly. Some game though get too silly way too fast or they ground their game only to get completely insane out of nowhere.

the greater the immersion the greater the quality of the games, when the game has quality the greater the chance of growth

Yes, not necessarily always but it's what I enjoy the most. But it doesn't need to be a realistic setting. Just coherent and believable enough. An example of not believable is when the main character does stupid things for the sake of setting up a scene or to not cut the story short, that's probably one of the worst offenders for me.

Immersion, but NOT slow burn, like ever.

A fast fuckfest cant be an immersion, it HAS to be slow burn to tell an immersive story.

yes immersion is 1 of the key things a VN needs for me if its just a mindless fuckfest it get boring quick

Slow burn is a watching paint dry/grass grow simulator. It sucks ass. Remember, it's not a dichotomy. It can be something other than a total fuckfest or hours of boring dialogue.

I just want something that makes my dick rock hard, so it doesn't matter if it makes sense. If it's hot, or funny, or both, I welcome it with open arms. If it's stupid and not hot then it's worthless.

Of course, I play VNs to be entertained by the plot, so I expect more than just a visual thing most of the time. The situation is important for the hotness of a scene, so even if it makes no sense it can be good still.

Both of these.

Give me immersion all the time. I delete the non-immersion stuff quick.

I haven't played an immersive porn game but I prefer them to have mostly grounded and coherent stories/characters
