If the games has bad writing, is not going to last in my attention. At that point, I just use a gallery mod, or just extract the files to watch and then just delete it

I think I skip at least some of the dialog on at least 50% of games. The story has to be rely good for me to dedicate lots of time to reding to get to the good parts.

Porn games are porn. I see skipping dialogue in games as analogous to skipping to the actual sex in porn movies. Sure, you are missing something. In most games, it’s just generic slop about lemon-stealing-whores or monologues about how the MC hasn’t seen their [sister/mother/aunt] for years, and now one of them has grown up.

I'm curious to what others do when playing H-Games. Do you tend to mash space/left click to get through a lot of the dialogue, maybe stopping at some parts, or do you take the time to read everything? I tend to mash through the early parts of games at least, then maybe slow down after a while.

Oh well, some games are absolutely terrible and if they have good eyecandy...I might decide to at least review the content
But sometimes writing is quite great (case in point: Eternum) so no, and I'm enjoying it a lot.

Sometimes, yes. There are some games with models that I like that have just text after text after text. If I'm going to spend 20 straight minutes reading dialogue, I could just read a sexy story or novel instead.

Nah, i play for the story usually, and also, i think that context is important for me, like to put myself in the position of the mc and bla bla.. i may skip just if i see that is just ramble that doesnt add anything good to the story, but i usually dont skip.. Hell, there are games out there that made me cry when i just wanted to jerk off lmao

honestly depends on how much of a rush I'm in, but i generally try not to.

It really depends on the game or the mood I'm in. Sometimes I skip a lot for the unlocks and then have a slower, reading playthrough.

Sometimes, more often that I'd like to admit actually. If text becomes too complex, or relations become muddled (I'm looking at you multiple protagonist!) then playing a game over the stretch of its development (1-2-3 years) I just loose focus and interest.
Setting and story is important, but if it doesn't add to the character or the sex scenes are 'generic' or out-of-character anyway then there's a disconnect, which makes me ctrl-rush a game.

Depends on the type of game. I tend to engage with the story and read more in a game with actual gameplay, I tend to just hold CTRL in VNs to see the scenes. Mostly since I'm used to VNs having 5 arts for 5 hours of reading.
The more I think about it the more I lean towards the "depends" part. I don't think I can put into words what makes me read vs. not read in games, besides the negative bias towards VNs and positive towards games with actual gameplay. There certainly have been some VNs I read and RPGMs that I fully skipped...

I usually skip if the plot is not too outstanding, because english is not my good thing so it takes a lot of time to translate them into the language i am using
