im fine with a face as long as theres not many closeups of his face during scenes

I am indifferent. To me the lewd games take one of two varieties. A story, or fap material.

For a story, their face is just a characters face. For fap material, it's basically just like a male porn actor. They're a part of the scene but not the part I care about.

I will say, that I am amused when I notice the lengths developers go to to hide the male protagonists face. It's kinda funny to see a faceless male body in anime style, or comically placed obstructions in a scene that has to be built entirely detail by detail in exactly the place the author wants stuff.

is nice, its normally to put the focus on the other part. i think its better done when prota's face just doesn't show (because of hair or something) than to full un-personalize it

I don't care either way as long as the face (or not-face) aren't distracting from everything else I'm looking at
yeh, there have a few games that I wish DIDN'T have a face... lol! the character design was just WAY too distracting.

but generally, having a simple face or a well designed face is better than no face at all for me.

as long as the face mostly fits the character it's fine, but is dev want to avoid showing it, then it usually doesn't bother me, the WVM black box being the exception

I'm fine with a protagonist's face most of the time. I like to see kissing scenes so you kinda need the face

Why stop at faceless? Why not go headless? 😝

I'M not bothered by a face on the MC, i think that is weird avoiding show the MC face.

I never really understood the self insert thing. I guess it would never be immersive to me unless its like a VR environment with my own controlled avatar. Theres ultimately never a character that has all the same physical features as you anyway, face or not. I would prefer a face as sometimes it can feel lazy when the male isnt as animated or as detailed as the rest besides just having the tool to use in any scene.

I don't care for self-insertion. Doesn't matter if they look like me or not, I can still empathize if I'm not repulsed by them. And another thing- the protagonist is going to have the most screentime. So keeping them as a blank slate feels like wasted potential to me.

I prefer when the MC has a face. I like for them to be a character of their own as opposed to a blank slate that I’m supposed to just project myself onto. I want to feel as though I’m in their shoes making potential choices they would make instead of just an omnipotent being forcing them to do my bidding divorced from what they would do.
