I prefer 3d games. The only 2d game I really enjoyed is Max the Elf.

3D has to have like extra effort to make it look good or else it would look uncanny af. While 2d needs to have great art quality to look good. But i much prefer 3d, the closeness to real life is just so fascinating for me, but not too close.

probably not the answer you'd be looking for, but "it depends". I greatly prefer 3D (as long as its not Koikatsu) to eastern/Japanese 2DCG, but well drawn western 2DCG is what is my favorite overall, I just find that ones I'd consider to be well drawn are far fewer in number. (I especially like, if its a parody of an existing franchise, if it tries to stay similar to the art of the original franchise). I really just don't like classic eastern/Japanese 2DCG at all, and I honestly couldn't even place why, something about it just turns me away from it.

3D is better but depends on how much effort is put into it. A 3d rpg maker slide show can go kill itself.

I don't mind either, but these days i lean more to 3D as too many 2D games rely on AI and every game ends up looking the same

I used to avoid 3d games only playing 2d ones, but recently I've come to the realization that if done well the 3d ones are better.

most times 2d as sadly alot of 3d ones look bad or ugly trying to be realistic 2d they will all look way better even if the artstyle can be cartoony

i think 3d is far superior but there are some good 2d games

I go for more 2D hand-drawn style, since I read a lot of doujins and I like the art style. 3D can be good, but I find that the uncanny valley effect is really strong if it isn't done well. That can really ruin a game.

more of the 2d side but can enjoy 3d need a good story story is the main attraction to me if ot's good and the graphic not too bad it's fine by ma

I have little preference between 2D or 3D, but I'd say I like 3D more simply because the animation for them tends to be better

2D - RPG sandbox, games like pizza hot
3D - any others with animations

Both works, as long as it's entertaining. I've played a 3D game before that bore me so much I deleted it after 5 minutes (not going to mention the game, it doesn't deserve a praise)

Definitely prefer 3D, but mainly for the improved animation. Would really love some more games like Lost Life.
