I've been following some games and realized that I'm not enjoying them as much as when I played them for the first time. and one of the reasons is that the amount of content in an update is not enough to keep me engaged, so I was curious to know how the "community" plays and if any of you have the same problem.

No blanket answer, it depends on the game and the dev's release pattern. Some I know it's best to wait an update or three and pick it up when some time has passed. Others I know each individual update will be a solid amount of content and it's worth picking them up as soon as they drop.

For most games I’d say no, but if the game only updates like once or twice a year I will.

I tend to wait 6 months between playthroughs, I hate loading up a update to only have 5 minutes of content. Less likely to ruin the game if I wait.

i'm waiting until there's a good amount of content. I dont want to just be playing every version of the game with the most minor additions.

Life is short. Yes. (unless it's just a bugfix or minor update like that).

Judge it solely on content added, if the dev does infrequent big updates like BeingADik i'll play every update but if they do smaller updates frequently i'll give it a few months until i redownload

I usually wait a while when a new game arrives, dl after a few updates, then if i like the game dl every few more.

Yes, but I don't start until a few in at least. I do skip holiday specials.

If the game is constantly updated i play it every update, and if the game is good enough

Like 3 games I play every update because they usually add pretty good content. Sexbot (caught this game really late so not completely fair), The Pilgrimage, and Straitened Times would have been Summertime Saga as well if it wasn't on its scamming arc.

I only play when there's major update or new combat/gallery content added. I'll ignore bugfix, new location, and new enemies which gives none mentioned.

Like most people here. skip the first few releases while content builds up. if it's good, then play every release because the good ones take forever for anything to get updated. Just be grateful they don't get abandoned. 😆

Yes and No. Depends on the game.
But mostly no.
Such a sharp pain, the Manor, Max life, Desert Stalker ... are the type of games that I play every update.
Forgot the name of game but I remember one where I waited nearly 2 year before playing it again. And despite being updated every month. It took me only 20min to reach the end on the content.

Depends on the games... I follow a bunch of games, so I categorize them into genres and in that into how good they are to me A, B and C pretty much. C and B I don't. The A-games i follow closely, often support on patreon or subscribestar ect and play every update (but a game doesn't get into A if they update all 6 months and give only 10 minutes of content, so, every update has something to play), B games are good games with a flaw, like long dev cycles, small updates, or something in the game itself, those I keep an eye out, but mostly wait 2 or 3 updated before I update myself. Well and C is played to the end of current content and I liked it, but didn't have the "i wonder if there is something new", so I keep em and someday when I think "what to play today" I go and update a old one of those :D

depends on the size of the update, when updates are "added one image and 3 lines of dialogue" it's better to let them pile up for some time

I usually wait till a game gets to .06 or above before downloading the game for the first time, something has to really catch my eye for me to download before then. As for updates, it really depends on the game, I usually will wait for a few updates to come out to build up the content.

I don't play every update for the simple reason that i tend to want to binge a game but if i play every update its as if I'm being denied my fun & enjoyment so i tend to wait for a bunch of updates to pass (i tend to wait more then a year) until i check back up on a games progress if i seen a ton of content has dropped i will then play the game again from the beginning
