Not everyone is able to draw. I actually really like the look of AI when its used for character art. One of my current favorite games, Mobile NTR, has the character art done with AI, and I'm totally fine with it. It adds to the story, and they visually look fantastic.

I don't support AI in the writing though. I want to see what the developers create out of their own minds. I firmly think that everyone can create and write a cool story, even if it needs alot of editing and revision. Not everyone can draw well enough for consumer consumption, no matter how much it is revised.

i like if the picture is consistent with the character because sometimes the character is not the same throughout the games because of the use of ai

It's a tool. Can honestly say it's a game changer in my case. It answers my questions about programing in five seconds vs trying to find the answer sifting through web pages and videos that are meant to try to keep you're attention as long as possible. I use MuseTree and Stable Diffusion to help think out scenarios and even made my avatar with AI. Only downside is I really want the 5090 to cut my rendering times down :(

It is here to stay. No doubt about it. And I think it gets better and better. The possibilites are great and I for one is looking forward to what is to come next. It will also hopefully make it easier for the lot of us who enjoy these type of games, but are not very tech savvy, to maybe create something ourselves.

I'm pretty against it, unless real effort is put into it. AI art tends to look extremely samey unless you take a good amount of time on the prompts. The worst is when someone just dumps 50 images from the same prompt and acts like it's something valuable.

I think AI has real potential in writing scenes, but as far as art goes idk. Even if AI "looks" better than authentic art, there's something about art styles that have a certain charm to them.

I think the accessibility makes a game with AI art more likely to be complete trash

like if they couldn't put the work in to get real art, what inspired the dev to even do this

The worst is when such little effort is put in that youre basically looking at different characters each time, I went through a VN where each update one of the LIs was getting re-rendered and barely resembled their first appearance

I think its pretty cool it lets developers who cant draw still make a game

I'm open to whatever comes down the pipe and makes games more fun. If it doesn't enhance the experience the market will self correct imo and they won't sell or be played. People like what they like until they don't. Lets see what happens.

The most important thing: the end consumer. If the game accomplish the expectations it doesnt matter which tool was used.

I'm on the side of creating stuff manually, following a creative process of trial and error, the way art works. Nonetheless, it is pretty obvious AI is going to evolve much more non stop and artists themselves will end using it to accelerate their projects and "gain a foothold" on the competitive market every years becomes bigger.

And i know for sure some artists will never touch AI for several reasons, one being the beautiful part of creating something from 0 and enjoying the way not the end result, but as I said, there is too much competition.

AI games, images and text lack soul. I'm not a fan.

In the current state of AI, most games give me the feeling that they were poorly made regardless of the developer's effort. Especially when it comes to character design.

AI just seems so inconsistent to me. Even if it's able to make the same character in different poses and situations, it's always just a little bit off in a way that give me uncanny valley vibes.

It has its pros and cons. It can help devs produce art faster and at a higher quality. But it can also be used to depict real people, which would mean lots of legal shit.

AI... What is currently being called AI, is a crutch. It can be a useful tool so long as it is not being used to replace actual thinking and skills development. I have witnessed what the lesser forms of AI have done in retarding the acquisition of skill sets by people (cashiers who cannot figure out that a hundred aluminum cans turned in for their individual redemption value of 5 cents comes to 5 dollars, and must use a machine to arrive at that totally obvious answer) and working professionals (10+ years ago a legal assistance program obviated the need for junior lawyers to look up laws so those junior lawyers never picked up the skills for how laws were laid out and where to look for potential problems, so a cost cutting move by legal firms ended up hamstringing them in the long run). When given the option between working for it or just getting it handed to you, which do you think most people would prefer?

Well, whatever, the genie has been out of the bottle for a while. No turning back.
